Palace is open but ...
Jun 2018 • Family
The interior of this House of Savoy's summer palace is lovely and worthwhile to visit. I remember a marble sculpture of a veiled woman; though it seems impossible, one can see her facial features in great detail through her sculpted stone veil.

Best of all for this visitor's family was a pleasant summer afternoon's walk through the beautiful garden behind the Castello (voted best in Italy in 2010).

After a tree fell in summer 2018 the park was closed to the public and so it will remain until further notice. When it opens, hopefully someone will post here that the 3rd paragraph of my review is no longer true!

Interesting

It's strange to see a royal palace right in the heart of a little town, but that's what you get when you visit Racconigi. The palace itself is rich in history, being one of the summer homes belonging to the Savoia royal family.Very reasonable entrance fee. Unfortunately, the grounds aren't open to the public at the moment.

We had a great day visiting the Castello. They had a English version of the tour. Very well priced too. Well paced tour.

The town of Racconigi is worth the detour and the 2-hour guided tour is worth every minute! English spoken.

A sumptuous summer residence of the Italian House of Savoy
Sep 2018
The former Italian royal family owned dozens of extravagant mansions and palaces all over Piedmont, where they spent the summer - as in the case of Racconigi - or the winter - as the Royal Palace in Turin. From the 16th to the 19th c. the Savoia built and used a series of them, all replete with beautiful works of art and craftsmanship, and in the case of the summer mansions, huge shooting grounds. Racconigi is one of the most dramatic samples. The visit to the royal apartments is unfortunately rushed and the park can not be visited due to safety hazards, but I highly recommend it.

Can be nice, but not this time
Aug 2017 • Couples
I visited this place this summer, was a very warm day so we was thinking was a good idea to visit this place and stay a little on hte shade of the tree's and drink a something, unfurtunatly the bar inside the park was close and no one told us this when we buyed the ticket, so was a little bit disappointing.. also the park can be a little more take care off, maybe we was there in hte wrong season, but still the bar in august have to be open or you have to put a sign in the entrance....

Good, but not catered for languages other than Italian
Apr 2017
We arrived and decided to do the palace tour and access the park. The guide was Italian and despite about half the group not speaking Italian no translation was given. English speaking visitors were given a hard copy guide to follow but half the time it was not clear which area/room we were in to refer to the guide. It entrance was more expensive we would have been very upset because of this.

Family visit
Apr 2017 • Family
We visited the castle with our 3 children ages 14,10 and 8. We enjoyed our time at the castle although there wasn't any information in English. We absolutely loved visiting the gardens and took the horse and carriage around the garden which we thoroughly enjoyed. The driver spoke English and gave us a guide of the grounds in both English and Italian. Definitely enjoyed our visit. Would have been 5 stars if there had been a bit of information in English.
