About
Ropetackle Arts Centre is a purpose built community-run arts venue that attracts some of the biggest and best performing arts events in the UK. Situated in the heart of Shoreham, West Sussex, our goal is to stage events for all tastes and all budgets for the good folk of Adur and beyond.A registered charity, and staffed almost exclusively by volunteers (including our Trustees), Ropetackle Arts Centre is run by and for the local community. Friendly, welcoming, diverse and fun, we guarantee a great night out at a fair price. Our superbly equipped auditorium performance space seats 220, or 350 standing. We have a separate mezzanine space (for small events or meetings), two well-stocked bars, plus a large light and airy foyer which houses our in-house cafe.

Attended the venue for a gig by the Kubricks, this was our first visit to the Ropetackle and it will not be our last. Excellent staff on arrival being extremely helpful when I realised I’d left the tickets at home.🙄 Good bar prices with good staffing levels. The venue is easy to find with good staff. Nice to see clean toilets as was the rest of the venue.

Recently visited to attend an event. Needed a bit of support to assist with a hidden disability to make the visit successful and the venue went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. Everyone we met was very understanding and supportive, just brilliant. This support has such a massive impact and I just wanted to give a big thanks and say everyone was brilliant. And the place was tidy and very nice too!

Recently moved to Shoreham, and it’s lovely to have an arts centre. There are lots of activities and the cafe provides a friendly central hub. We have attended several events so far including the cinema and this was good value. Look forward to more events in this smaller environment soon.

Lovely little place for a relax and chill in a morning! Coffee cake and a magazine. Meeting friends and family - or just a little working morning on my own!

We have been to the panto at the Ropetackle several times and this year it was as good, if not better than ever. It had all the ingredients we wanted and had appeal for all ages. The dame was brilliant, and the four main roles were wonderful - full of energy and engaged so well with the audience. Well done to the brilliant cast and we look forward to next year!

Just returned from our first visit to this place to see a band. The refreshment prices were good for a venue, half the price of places like the o2 or wembley. The acoustics were spot on. The only downside was the seating was cramped as there is only a 250 capacity seated.

Have been to several shows at Ropetackle Arts Centre. Plenty of variety for all tastes. It is great that you can sit in the comfort of a table and chair having a glass of wine whilst enjoying fabulous entertainment.

This venue is great for a night out. They have an assortment of entertainment, we mainly see bands or tribute bands. The one in July was Eagles tribute and the one we are going to see in October is Fleetwood Mac tribute. They are fun evenings and a good place to meet people. They also have a licenced bar and a little cafe for food before the show.

What time do the doors open for Barnstormers Comedy Night and can we get a meal and a drink there?

Hello, Barnstormers starts at 8.30pm, so doors will open around 8pm. We have two bars so drink and snacks are available, but unfortunately there are no meals before this show (there are plenty of options along Shoreham High Street though). Hope that helps.
