I see this monument everyday. It is a well maintained place. As a mosque it is used on Fridays. This is 500 years old. With a pond it has an appearance of a temple. You can go inside the small room. It is worth visiting.

A small cute (new) Masjid next to a neglected and dirty water reservoir. Much of the original structure is gone

The mosque is easy to find along the road #4A close to Ponda. The whole site , built of the local red stones, stands like it did 450 years ago, almost untouched. It has a large pool in front and, aside a beautiful grandiose banjan tree with hundreds of its crampons.

A stone's throw away from Ponda Bus Terminus, Safa Mosque is one of the less frequented tourist spots in Goa. It is located far away from the coastal attractions: reaching Ponda takes well over an hour from both Panjim as well as Margao. A unique feature of this sixteenth century mosque is that much of it is built using locally... More

On the way to Dudhsagar, bang on the main road at Ponda one can look at this beautiful mosque built in 1560 AD by Ibrahim Adil Shah, before Goa came under influence of Portuguese. This is a small mosque, surrounded by a beautiful park and beautiful tank. Architecturally this is illustration of Indo-Islamic Architecture. Those interested in history and architecture... More
