The mosque was built by Ibrahim Adil Shah in 1560. Adjacent to the mosque is a masonary water tank. A broad road from the west with stairs meet the main entrance of the Mosque.

The Masjid is a small Masjid next to a neglected water reservoir. It is a cute one, but nothing particular about it if you are driving their only for the Masjid itself. Much of the original architecture is gone

Built in 1560 AD by Ibrahim Adil Shah, this is a beautiful mosque, with beautiful park and tank, bang on the main road at Ponda from Panaji to Dudhsagar. Excellent example of Indo-Islamic architecture, those interested in history and architecture can spend sometime here.

The white Safa Masjid is the only historic mosque of Goa. It is also the only remains of Muslim rule of Bijapur dynasty in Goa. It is a unique mosque in India as it doesn't have any minarets. A must visit historical spot in Ponda.
