Having been to a number of trekking centres in Ireland we were recommended Sheans Horse Farm and it didn’t disappoint. The greeting at the centre was warm and welcoming and our group of riders were assessed by Maggie and appropriate horses allocated based on experience. The safety briefing for the novice riders was fantastic and put any nerves at ease. The horses were happy and obviously well cared for and enjoyed their work. The trek itself had the most stunning views of the surrounding countryside and our guide Maggie was excellent at pointing out local landmarks. On returning it was a lovely touch that the novice riders were able to practice some trotting in the sand school to gain more riding skills. It was heaven from start to finish and a MUST EXPERIENCE for horse lovers! Gillian, Sally & Zara

Incredible ride!
i’m an experienced rider and sometimes it’s easy to worry when you do things like this it..can be deemed “boring” but it was nothing of the sort it was pretty much like a fun ride/mini hunt! plenty of trot and canter work through the rivers up the mountains! i will definitely be back in summer to try the beach gallops! staff are friendly and a special shout out to debbie who took our ride she was great craic!

My daughter (age 9) and I had a lovely hack with Ben up into the hills above Armoy. It was my daughter’s 1st hack so they recommended a private hack so we could go at our own pace.
Beautiful countryside without the need to go on any roads. We were very fortunate, the weather was beautiful, the scenery was fantastic, Betty and Buzz (our pony and horse) were lovely and Ben our instructor was friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back the next time we are in NI.

Thank you for your review ,a private hack is a brilliant way to be able to work at your own pace and get confidence out in the open . It's great to hear how well she got on ,Betty is definitely a favourite pony on our lessons. Our hacks are all off road which means you can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery on the farm and set your own pace to get as much out of the experience ,hope to see you again soon

Absolutely fantastic days fun for Dympna our work colleagues retirement.
A great family run business, kind, friendly staff.
Donal, Georgia and Oliver were brilliant and apologies I can’t remember the name of the guy who took us on the trek. He was fantastic and very funny.
An all round brilliant experience, and value for money.
I would highly recommend Sheans Horse Farm.

I just wanted to say thank you SO much for the trek diane and I did on Saturday with Tara.
I was definitely nervous in the arena, and not riding my best, but once we got out on the trails, it was AMAZING. I definitely did not expect to canter/gallop as much, vinnie was an absolute rocket and I had the time of my life!!!
We also went through rivers and up and down mounds.... So a bit of a cross country experience too!
I've never experienced rain like it, but I literally had the best two hours of my life. Thankful to the Sheans staff for lending us waterproof trousers to go over our jodhpurs before we headed out! I literally cannot wait to get booked in again.
Fantastic experience. I felt so safe, but also had the adrenaline pumping the whole time. Perfect experience!!!
Thank you also to terese.... Such a professional, happy, bubbly lady.....just perfect for the job she is doing. Couldn't get better!!
See you again soon!!

Me and my wife Tina had a great time at Sheans Horse Farm. We booked the 3.5 hour picnic ride and it was just me and my wife that day so we had a great private tour up the mountain. Kyla was our guide and she was great to get to know. At the end we had some time left over and Kyla thought us how to properly trot on the horses! Hands down they have the best prices for the experience you get, I’ve paid more for less, so that’s to say you get a huge bang for your buck with this company! I urge you to book with Sheans Horse farm, you won’t regret it! Thanks again, cheers.

My husband and daughter thoroughly enjoyed their time here. My daughter rides horses all the time but my husband hasn't been on a horse for over 30 years!! The girl that took them round was great, so good that my daughter wants us to bring her home to Ballynahinch!! They both came home having learnt a few things and can't wait to go back next year!!
