Long beach surrounded by limestone hills. We have been to Railay beach for roughly about an hour which is not enough to explore; more of a trailer of what Railay offers. From what I have seen and learnt is you can only enjoy Railay if...More

Visited there in december, 2018 from Ao Nang beach and I wasn't impressed at all. There are much better places in Thailand for me.

Railay was hands down the best part of my trip in southern thailand. The food, people, beaches everything surpassed my expectations. 10000% recommend this for future travellers

If you are staying in Railay go to Pranang Beach as its by far the most beautiful. Railay west is pretty for sunsets.

A fantastic small beach resort, only accessible by long tail boats from krabi or Aonang. Plenty of food outlets and bars along walking street at reasonable prices, however supermarket prices for drinks, cigerettes etc very inflated compared to mainland. Short trip on boat for 200bt...More

We were there everyday for 2 weeks. It is a gorgeous beach surrounded by huge limestones. The sand is SO soft and white, the water is beautiful and blue, you have a huge space for swimming where longtail boats don’t go. Lots of space on...More

Beautiful destination. It is a bit more pricey then the other resorts around but it is lovely! The view point is worth climbing.

We are going to Thailand the first two weeks of December. We plan to be on the beaches the first week. I can't decide which island, most the information I found is dated. I am debating between Railay, Phuket, or Koh Lanta. I'm afraid Phuket is going to be way too busy. Is Railay also? The things that I want are to be able to look out to the cliff rock formations, teal water, decent snorkeling, and hopefully the least amount of people. Obviously, there will be people, but I want some space and not jammed packed and loud. We would also prefer cheaper but still relatively nice accommodations. It will just be my husband and I, we are young 30s. We don't care about shopping and don't need fancy food options. Mostly just hanging on the beach, snorkeling, kayaking, and exploring a little. Thank you for the help!

Phuket is very very crowded. The tourist beach area is almost a bit like Bangkok. Railay is not crowded at all but you can only access it with those dodgy longboats. They Cost money and can be quite annoying as not all... More
