Just like the sailors of old, you’d recognize this Venetian island by the picturesque pastel-colored houses and buildings visible from its shores. Burano also is famous for its intimate lace, an art its people want to keep alive.

We only had an hour on our tour but easily could have spent much longer in this picturesque town. The vaporreto goes here so that might be a better option.

Took the tour and when we got close to the island it looked spectacular, thankfully it was a sunny day which made the island look even more beautiful. Once on the island we walked around taking in the breathtaking streets, all the buildings painted fantastic colours and the lace shops, which the island is renowned for, is fantastic and while... Burano is easy to reach by public Transport. At the Vaporetto stop "Fundamente Novo" take N° 12 and after a stop at Murano and Torcello you will arrive at lovely Burano. The island is very small and very colourful. You need one hour, if you stay for lunch a little longer. By then you will have seen most of the... More

We took the vaporetto over to Burano and spent a wonderful day wandering around and shopping. Burano is a small island located in the same lagoon as Venice, but its charming colored houses and shops create an entirely different experience from that of Venice. Burano is famous for its beautifully crafted lace goods.

Grabbing a boat over to burano is worth the cost and time, especially on a sunny day. This island is lost in time and has a friendly welcoming feel to it. Looking round the island in the shops and the canals is relaxing and ideal for photos

- Cost around 7.50 EUR/pp per trip (<6 yo – free) (e.g. Venice -> Murano, Murano->Burano, Burano->Venice = 3*7.5 = 22.50 EUR/pp). Ticket is good for 75 min in one direction. - MURANO Island is famous for the glass handcrafts. There are two places on the island (as of Oct 16, 2016) where you can watch the process of glass... Burano is located on one of the lagoons near Venice and is easily accessible by the ferries running from Venice. It makes for a fantastic day trip from Venice as you are able to get away from the crowds and get to experience the charms of these beautiful place. The colorful houses and canals give Burano a characteristic feel. Burano... More

I can't stop raving about how gorgeous this island is. The colors, the people, the food, the views! It is about 35 minutes away from Venice but it certainly requires a visit! Very picturesque and you can get lots of great photos. A must!

We visited Burano for a couple of hours over the weekend. It was a very wet day however it was still lovely to walk around and see all the quirky little shops and lovely colourful houses. We really enjoyed our trip however would like to go back with better weather.
