Just like the sailors of old, you’d recognize this Venetian island by the picturesque pastel-colored houses and buildings visible from its shores. Burano also is famous for its intimate lace, an art its people want to keep alive.

Burano is around a 20 minute vaporetto ride from Murano. The place is small, cute and lives up to its reputation of lovely bright painted houses. Nothing much to do except walk along the lovely canals in clean surroundings and check out the leaning tower . There are lots of lace shops but we were put off by what we... More

I love just strolling around Burano!! Not really crowded and the buildings are all so colorful. Be sure and walk by the canals....more colorful houses.

Took the Public Ferry to the island for a day trip from San Marco. Went there in Dec 2016 .. hence the wind was chilly. Made a mistake of wearing too thin that day. Little Houses painted in vibrant colours that are definitely Insta-worthy. Small Shops litter the island and there are a few restaurants that serves the standard Italian... More

This stunning piece of quaint culture approx 40mins vaporetto ride from the main island of Venice. The coloured houses really wow when you arrive. It's so lovely that the whole island (well the majority) all have their houses in a bright colour. There are beautiful plant boxes on the window sills, lovely shutters and such a clean space. We loved... More

Put on your sunglasses, the colour of this island is blinding. It has the canals of Venice without the huge crowds. Shops, restaurants, parks and canals all together make for a very pleasurable day of shopping, eating and sightseeing.

What a lovely island with such vibrant colours. Good spot if you enjoy taking photos. You can see all the island in 1h, but take your time and appreciate the real beauty.

This is one of my favorite places ... friendly, peaceful and far from the crowds in Venice. Though tourists come off the # 12 in droves they are leaving by 2000.(8 pm). The church bells ring every hour starting at 7 am... the trash is collected daily and the streets are narrow. Easy to walk around and they have a... More

Get away from the crowds in Venice and visit this beautiful and colorful island. Quiet, with beautifully painted buildings, a nice stroll through town visiting the shops. We would definitely come here again.
