Came here while staying with relatives. Excellent displays both old and modern and it's obvious that the local volunteers love what they do by the way the museum is looked after. The vehicles from bygone years are kept immaculate and the locals love to tell you about the history of Oxford which makes it personal and very interesting. A definite... More

Friendly staff greet you as you enter. They loved to share their local knowledge, they made you feel as if you were a local. The exhibit was well organised.

For a small town it is a very comprehensive museum. There is a working model of the railway that used to run to Rangiora.

There is a vast amount of period pieces & photos. Everything is well explained by the very helpful and welcoming volunteers. This can be followed by a cup of great tea or coffee at before at the local Oxford shops.

Some interesting period exhibits. A lot of work has gone into preserving local history. Good for an hour or so browsing around

The Oxford volunteers have done a great job with the new extension and their displays. A comprehensive record of the area's history. We'll be back to see it all completed.

It is dedicated to showing exhibits that have a local influence, such as those that have been brought to Oxford from early settlers and Oxford families who have had great influence in the growth of the town. They have a new exhibition space which should be ready early in 2015 and they are in the process of fund-raising to build... More

We recently spent 3 months vsiting family who live close to Oxford town , visited Oxford quite often, the cafe's ,craft shops and antique shop are excellent. The farmer's market on Sunday morning is worth a visit, if you like original cornish pasties try one from the guy in the red and white stripped apron, his wife makes them, they... More

I might be biased since I live in Oxford, New Zealand, but I think this is the best small town museum I have seen.It is well worth a visit if you are nearby. They are on Facebook if you wish to follow them there.
