Well worth a visit to see this amazing facility and learn more about astronomical research. I also recommend a visit to Jurg for night viewing of the heavens.

We enjoyed and interesting and informative visit to the observatory. The telescope is sited on the highest point in the area which makes for wonderful views and good photo opportunities.

I did not do the evening tour as we wanted to go into SALT and see the actual telescope. If you go in the evening there are scientists working there so visitors cannot enter SALT. I would suggest you do the afternoon tour... More
