Interesting to see how it works, the size of it and some atro big words. Quite a drive (well worth it just for the drive) to get there from Sutherland.

Well worth a visit to see this amazing facility and learn more about astronomical research. I also recommend a visit to Jurg for night viewing of the heavens.

We enjoyed and interesting and informative visit to the observatory. The telescope is sited on the highest point in the area which makes for wonderful views and good photo opportunities.

This is a MUST visit for anyone passing through Sutherland. Young Children should also be given the opportunity to see how our country holds its own in the technological world.

I did not do the evening tour as we wanted to go into SALT and see the actual telescope. If you go in the evening there are scientists working there so visitors cannot enter SALT. I would suggest you do the afternoon tour... More

The weather at this time is usually quite warm, the days will be around 28 degrees celcius and the evenings much cooler around 10 degrees. I see you are from Somerset West, the weather isn't too different except for the... More
