We saw these pyramids taking an organized tour with Charter Club Tours out of Ajijic. The tour starts at a mall where there is easy and free all day parking for your car. The group meets at 8am and the clean, modern and sturdy van leaves on time. We were 7 in total on this tour. The first stop is... More

I like these type of archeological sites and Guachimontones was a nice place to visit. I'd recommend you go to the visitors center first and watch the movie (about 15 minutes) to get some background before going up to the site. You can hire a guide for about 300 pesos (I didn't do this) but would imagine they can provide... More

Is a beautiful place to visit in September because it rains and everything is green. If you go in other months it will be dry and very hot that will make it a different experience. Overall this place is very interesting and different from other ruins they have a new museum with lots of information on this civilisation. The entrance... More

If you've already visited the Guachimontones Interpretive Center, be warned: you haven't really seen it—simply because every six months it changes. A few days ago I was surprised to find a huge, first-class display all about pottery making. “We show how they did it in the past and how they do it today,” guide Marcelo Aguirre told me.In addition, the... I dont know if I love archaelogy but this place is awesome!! The city is 40min far from Guadalajara -- I went by cab, w other 4 people, and spent MXN 1,200. Arriving there, a very nice guide (Jaime) charged MXN 200 to follow and help us -- totally worth it. After that you get the museum -- impressive!!! I... More

This was a pretty place, it was interesting, however it there is not very much to see. The view was great. Also, from where you have to park....it is a long walk so if you have difficulty walking this would not be a good idea! Once you get to the top 30 min is more than enough time to have... More

An hour drive from Guadalajara on a generally good motorable road leads you to the entrance of the complex. An uphill 15 mins walk on a wooded internal road leads you to the complex of green grassy circular pyramids. Atop a vantage point gives a good view of the city and lakes. These were related to the flying dancers. A very... More

Views were excellent, family had lots of fun. Don't pay the guys in the front for the tours. We just went to the museum area and someone there have us the tour for free, of course we tipped him.

A great visit of a little known people of Mexico. The drive is pleasant and the ruins amazing. The interpretive center is amazing. There is a restaurant called Monte Carlo on the lake prior to arriving to the ruins that I recomens

Great spot for walking and enjoying the only round pyramids in the world! A mere 1 hr drive out of Guadalajara. 2 pyramids are refurbished. Good facilities, car park within and a avert interesting museum.
