We walked the Rota Vicentina and chose to leave the Fisherman’s trail at Ilha do Pessegueiro heading to Cercal do Alentejo and the Historical Way. We spent a night here instead of going to Porto Covo. The hostess was great, very professional. Accommodation was basic & dated. It included a good size room, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. Very quiet environment with gardens. There was an honesty bar for tea, coffee & alcohol. For meals the nearest restaurant is at the fort at Ilha do Pessegueiro an easy 1 km walk. You can also book a horse ride if so inclined. Very convenient location if walking the Rota Vicentina.

Comfortable, fit and ever-willing horses. Always ready to pick up the pace, but also completely controlled on the beach in an Atlantic gale. Great riding and varied scenery. Sandy tracks went on forever and you certainly need to be riding fit. We were on the 5-day trail ride and the format works really well. Excellent food. Such variety and tasty home cooking for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not so sure about the octopus, but all part of the experience!. Above all amazing hospitality from all of the team. Only wish we’d learnt a bit of Portuguese. We will long remember the final ride home in a gale force wind, when we deferred lunch, rode long and hard but the horses still didn’t put a foot wrong all day. Many thanks Claudia, Paolo and team.

I spent a week with four my friends this April. We had a very nice horse trail on Alentejo coast perhaps the most beautiful horserinding esperience I had. The lusitano horses are fantastic and Claudia and Paulo (the owner and the super guide) are very very carrefull with them and their guests. The management of trail (meals, accomodations, transfert ) are special too. In the morning and evening we had our breakfast and dinner in Claudia's mother restaurant and we were spoiled by aexcellent and substant meals. I'll hope to come back there.

We have a wonderfull stay at Herdade do Pessegueiro located at the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina. Claudia and Diogo where extremely nice hosts as all the working staff at the Herdade do Pessegueiro. We came in January and the weather was very nice, Sun was shining and all the surroundings where pure green. Sunset at the herdade do Pessegueiro is astonishing, it is possible to enjoy the sun and the sea on the horizon. At the nightime the view of the starts is amazing, residences have kitchen and a proper fireplace. All horses are very nice and well treated fitting the most unexperienced rider as myself, my girlfriend and friends. The horse ride along the beach was amazing and breathtaking, i will never forget this one. The lovely Pessegueiro beach is very near from the Herdade do Pessegueiro as it is possible to walk to the beach where it has a proper restaurant with a big fireplace inside and a terrace with a astonishing view to the Pessegueiro Island.

I warmly recommend this for horse loving tourists in The area. The horses are well treated and healthy, stable clean and staff very polite and Nice. Went for an hour with trotting and galopp, beautiful site with sandy trials along The coast. Loved it, both me and my 9 year old daughter. Come back next year.
