Spent a morning wandering around the gardens, which are heavily influenced by Asian plants brought back in the 19th century. As a result, the rhododendrons were in full bloom when we visited. There is a good circuit to follow with a few interesting deviations. Lots...More

Simply must visit, fantastic for spring walk, lots of ponds, great azaleas and lots of bluebells to see. It is probably the best spring garden to see in Dorset and I strongly recommend especially if you like visiting gardens. Car park is opposite 15 century...More

Just right to visit at this time of year as the rhododendrons are beautiful. The garden is a true delight and very tranquil. Small water cascades ,babbling brooks and birdsong. Ideal ideal place to chill out and good value for money .

I spotted a pink magnolia tree as we drove along, turned a corner and there was the sign for Minterne Gardens so we called in. Parking is easy, opposite a tiny church which was interesting to go in. The gardens were stunning and virtually deserted...More

A tranquil place. Beautifully laid out. Even though March may be a little early for a visit, the were some rhododendrons in follow. Also, if you take the river walk, there are some beautiful vistas. April/May is probably the best time (and autumn), but I...More
