Beautiful winery with good wines. However, since it´s a big winery, and it was crowded, the visit was fairly fast, and degustation was fast as well, which could be slower for better experience. Expensive wines, compared to similar (some of them better) wines from smaller bodegas.

It is a beautiful winery rich with history and innovation. It is a must see for malbec fans as it was the winery that brought Argentine wines to international attention. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to others!

Catena Zapata is one of the preeminent wineries in Mendoza. It is large and yet intimate at the same time. The tour was a walk in the history of one Mendozan family. The business of wine obviously a passion for this family and yet the whole experience for us educational and fun - going down to the barrel storage was... More

If you know Mendoza, you've heard about Catena before. And the Bodega and the tour live up to the expectation. I can't think of a single bad thing about Catena. Just go and enjoy the tour.

Catena Zapata is by far my favorite wine. This is the second time I visited the winery and still amazed by the history and how they pay attention to details. We did the premium tour with Adriana, she spoke perfect English, making it so much easier for my husband to follow the explanation, she was very nice to our group.... More

Visiting the PIramide was the highlight of my trip to Mendoza. I'm a tour guide myself and meeting Tatiana, the house sommelier, was a delightful experience. She was knowledgeable, fun and willing to answer all our questions. They make the best wine in Argentina, we all know that, but the place is also worth a look. Thanks Tati, muchas gracias... More

From the very beginning at the entrance to the Mayan pyramid all the way to the excellent wine tasting this has been an unique experience, at least compared to similar wine tours in California. The guide was very helpful in English. We got there through a booking with Kahuak Aventura, who did a marvelous job.

The wines are refined, velvety smooth and not to be missed. Like most of the wineries we visited, there are several lines available. They entry-level is good and more affordable. We'd actually had one of them at a restaurant without even realizing it at first. Good wines at a great price. The real stars are the "top-shelf" wines if you... More

This is ine of the biggest winery in Mendoza. It offers a professional reception, not that warm, like in a small bodegas. We tasted some medium wines nothing exceptional. This visit was good because the building that is like a Maya pyramid. It is good to know, but nothing exceptional.

We toured the Catena Zapata Winery on February 15th with our host Adriana Gomez. This place is built like an Aztec Palace. Beautiful stone, metal and glass. The tour starts with a short film about the family history and wine making and then off to the aging barrels down in the cellar. The barrels are on a rail system, for... More
