Supporting the Community,
Jan 2019 • Couples
Little tricky to find if the driver is not knowledgeable, but use Wasili, and after Njoro, look for Kenana Farm Sign, turn left in to the estate, just ask as you drive through the estate. get driver to wait, as only 4kes per minute, and ensures you get back to town.

Here they are finishing off work done at the workers home, they have a flexible method of Production which empowers the community to earn money whilst working around the individuals lifestyle. Other crafts are supported and the core team overseeing the operation are more than happy to explain the process.

Organic toys, natural dyes, masterful handwork and all profits towards education, medical care and medical screening - this project is beautiful in so many ways! Not only the magnificently crafted knitwear toys and artefacts, but more so the way these little works of art contribute to a better life for hundreds of women in this neighbourhood. A must visit!

The knits that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside
Jan 2019 • Family
We stopped by during our stay at Kembu Cottages, and I’m so glad we did. We learned how to card and spin wool, walked through the washing and dyeing processes and were so impressed at the all-natural dyes! The workshop provides much-needed employment as well as health care, education and a variety of services to literally hundreds of local women. And the shop sells not just the wonderful hand-knits but a variety of other locally made handicrafts. Best part was when my daughter got to meet the woman who made her new stuffed lion! A must see if you are in the area!

Starting from the moment you arrive, to the time you come to say kwaheri (goodbye), the experience is first class and magical. Everyone is so welcoming and the shop is a tardis of wonderment! I could get lost in there for hours admiring all the beautiful products - there is something for everyone.

I have been to their workshop and met the lovely ladies that run this and that work in this organization, they are all excellent! This is a great initiative that more people need to look at how we can help a community and build a successful business that provides happiness. I have purchased many items from them and love giving these as gifts!

A really nice trip to see the knitters creating the animals and other things for sale. The shop has all kinds of items for sale, including gifts from other artisans in Kenya (hand painted cards, earrings, etc.).
