If you're looking for this beach, especially coming from Grand Case, follow the signs to the Friar's Bay restaurant, but after a turn and barely half a mile, turn off on an unpaved, rocky road to get here (don't go up the hill). It's rutted, so take it slow, but so worth it! Rent some chairs from the restaurant at... More

We have been to this beach many times. The beach is quiet except for Sundays when the locales go there. Do NOT go on Sunday. The restaurant is really good but pretty pricey. The service is excellent and the food amazing! Give it a try. If you eat at the restaurant the chair and umbrella rental is free.

Excellent smaller and less crowded beach. There are two ways to get to this beach. We ended up taking the more rough road but it worked--just go slowly. Lots of parking even though there were many cruise ships in port. Two chairs and umbrella were $10 if you are eating/drinking at the restaurant. The water is crystal clear.

We stopped at this beach for a swim. We rented chairs from a cafe there. The beach was gently sloped and easy to walk into the water. The water was calm with very low waves. This beach is on the western side of the island so not on the Atlantic Ocean which is more rough. The sign said no nudity... More

We were 3 couples spending a week on St. Martin, driving & visiting many of the beaches. Friar's Bay was one of our favorites, although hard to find on Tuesday 7/12. We almost missed the small sign with the beach's name on it, & then the uneven, twisting road raised some doubts on whether we were headed the right way.... More

Friar Bay's is one of my favorite beaches on the island. There are no rocks in the water. It is not that shallow as you go out. It does get crowded especially on weekends but overall it is definitely worth the visit. The water is clear, sand in the water, parking, and beach bar.

If you enjoy the beach this is the place. The water here is crystal clear. You can take a short hike to Happy bay from here which is beautiful. Nice beach bar so spend the day, you can rent chairs and umbrellas....do it. The water is calm and the people are all friendly.

This is a very secluded beach with super calm and turquois waters. Two little restaurants (the one towards the end of the beach is a little more upscale but not a tad better just more expensive). They even bring your drinks into the water. Almost the best day on the island.

We visited today but didn't stay. Difficult to find the way. The road is rutted and rocky and takes you by a foul smelling stagnant marsh (wetland preserve). Once at the beach we just weren't impressed based on comparisons with other beaches we have visited like Mullet and Anse Marcel. The sand is a little rocky and it was crowded.... More
