What a beautiful spot. Great place for a surf, swim & picnic. This is an absolutely stunning beach. Just 5 minutes from other beautiful beaches such as Matapouri bay.

This is a magnet for those into surfing but, the beach, landscape and ocean scenery are second to none by any measure. While especially popular in summer, it is a year round destination and offers great options for a picnic as well.

This coastline is absolutely beautiful to look at and walk. An unheard of marvel! We stayed at the Sandy Bay Barn, which was perfect. Booked through Book a Bach website.

Abit bleak in the winter and the polar blast bellowing. It would be a great beach to visit in the summer and stretched for miles. Still a lovely bay to visit for walks in the winter.

Visited on a couple of occasions back in February 2016 during a two week stay locally. Ideal for sunbathing especially with some shady trees around it things get too hot.

Well worth the visit here for sight seeing and picture perfect beach. A bit of a trip from the north through very windy roads but the road from Whangarie is easier.

Beautiful sand with a stream exiting, perfect for small children to paddle and swim in. Rocks and trees at either end for exploring. Surfers doing their thing and a surf school if that takes your fancy. Otherwise, pullout the sunscreen, a good book and relax....More

Lovely setting, good toilets and parking. There is a surf school operating there that tends to run the centre of the beach so would suggest if you want it quieter move to the sides.
