We sailed through the Iron Gates Gorge during our cruise trip from Cetate of Romania to Serbia and this trip was considered to be fruitful, in particular, passing by the Carpathian Mountains. There were much to be seen, from the Djerdap I water locks, Golubac Fortress, Decebalus monument, Mraconia Monastry to Trajan's stone inscriptions. There should be different experience from... More

I read about the Iron Gates as a child, many years ago and recently I had a business trip to a town not far away. I decided to realize the old dream and enjoyed each and every moment in the Park. Is is so pristine, almost Africa in Europe

Go! Go! Go! No matter where you are, this place must be seen! Djerdap is the biggest national park in Serbia so it's much easier to cover the entire area by car, but it's totally worth to visit only some places to see the amazing views over Danube and have a peek to Romania. We travelled from Golubac to Donji... More

Sailed through this national park and it's just beautiful. Wonderful little villages , camping grounds, high up roadways and tunnels and bike paths.

We stayed in Kladovo for one night only to be able to travel along the gorge road which has interesting views but towards Golubac the river becomes less interesting. Kladovo itself is not really worth a visit, with views of Romanian silos, factories and cranes.

After I am finished my bussines in Romanien border I am decided to go home. The GPS show me this way from Kladovo to Belgrade. I drive all the way at least 100 km near river Donava and I Can not stoping to look on the ride side on the river. Beautiful almost wild nature with a view on Romanien... More

We went there with our tour guide to see the Iron Gates. With a private car, we were able to visit prehistoric Lepenski Vir located by the Danube river and the new magnificent glass building housing the Mesolithic 9,000-10,000 yr old artifacts and remains. Had a delicious local ethnic lunch nearby afterwards. Also visited Viminacium, an old major Roman military... More

Took a day trip from Belgrade. The drive along the way is scenic and the site is beautiful. This is worth a visit when in Serbia.

One of the most amazing places I've ever been, for sure. It is highly recommended to come here with a car, and for most of the trails you also have to inform the national park in advance in order to go with a guide. However, there is one trail behind a hotel in Donji Milanovac that is easy and can... More
