Spend time in our large 3 storey indoor soft play area where parents can sit and enjoy a cup of tea knowing their children are having fun.Outside you can hold a Rabbit or Guinea Pig, groom a pony and bottle feed Lambs or Goats. There are also an array of other animals to see from Alpacas and an Owl to cute Chinchillas and Tortoises.Outside also boasts a wooden climbing frame area, sandpits and go karts to wizz around on.Coming in 2014 - Colouring room for those wet days, sand art, extended go kart area and a Hay barn.Putlake also has a lovely Tea Room (Poppy tearooms) serving warm soup, paninis and sandwiches. Indulge in a cream tea or a slice of homemade cake.

A very small farm with limited activities suitable for under 8s. Ok to visit for a few hours but won't be returning.

We had a lovely day at the farm with our granddaughter. She loved the range of animals there and we were able to get close up to all of them. The activities have been well thought out and well spaced out time wise. There is plenty of space to run around and she enjoyed the sand area with its pretty hut. The adjacent cafe provided lovely paninis and the tea and coffee were very competitively priced. A play in the soft play area finished the day off. To be honest the toddlers area was a little tired looking but the rest of the area wqs not and I’m sure older children would really enjoy it. It felt like a family run business ( not sure if it is) and all the staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us have a lovely day. Good value for money!

We had a delightful visit to this lovely farm with our two year old son. The soft play was clean and nicely managed, and we absolutely loved feeding the goats and cows. There was a super outdoor play area and we had fun on the go carts. We watched a chicken lay an egg and stroked the guinea pigs. We had a lovely lunch in the café, and the staff were warm and generous with their time. It was the perfect trip for us and we would highly recommend it.

We camped in the adjacent field which was lovely and relaxed with great views.
The children were itching to get into the farm itself particularly for the soft play which they’ve missed since earlier this year!
They loved the soft play and we saw it being cleaned during the session.
The farm is fairly small but because of this feels intimate and less commercial than other larger places we’ve visited. It was also fairly quiet so they got to experience informative animal feeding and pony grooming.
We also loved the half hour tractor ride which was a small additional cost and enjoyed lovely views of the coast and Purbeck hills.
Staff were very friendly and hard working. Definitely worth a visit with young children of in the area or camping.

We’ve been in the area several times but we never considered going to the farm as our daughter was too young. Today we decided that could be the day for it and what a surprise!
For a farm it gives you everything you could expect, outdoor space and more animals than you could think of, but they have also thought about giving the parents some rest so they offer some other activities ( ride on toys, soft play area, sand pit. etc)
We taught our daughter how to feed and care for the animals with respect and she could also run free.
We had a lovely chat with the farmer who cares about the animals and also runs a proper farm as well as helping families to have a nice day out. The staff were very polite and helpful too.
The price is completely fair if you understand the cost of caring for animals properly.
We will definitely come back soon! Thank you very much.

Generally a nice place, the soft play area Is big enough and they say they sanitise it four times a day, although we got there at 10 when it opens and left at 1 and didn’t see it sanitised when we were there. We fed the goats which was great and saw the animals. The calf’s were adorable but I wondered if they had been ripped away from their mums, I’ve heard the screams from the mums and calf’s in tv and believe they are separated far too soon... would have been good to have seen babies with their mums in the larger pens outside. The bird cages were depressing but I’m one who believes birds should never be in cages, the parrot was all alone and anyone who knows the basics about birds know that they mate for life... so he must have been so sad living a solitary caged life. Didn’t see any bunnies would have been good to have stroked these providing they were ok with that and lived in large pens... Didn’t order food there, the tea wasn’t the best quality but the digger was fun. There was a play area outside as well which was good, also had a trampoline. The go carts were manual I was expecting electric! Could not move them very well. They need to invest in better tractors for the indoor area. If they had one of those mini baby rides that move and play music it would have been good as they can be easily sanitised.

A Great Day Out! Our 9-year-old daughter loved it so much we have been three times in the last five days!

The softplay was closed due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, but other than that you wouldn't really know any different. Hand washing is normal at farms like this anyways!

There are animals to see and pet/groom, and lambs, goats, and calves to feed. A tractor ride gives great views over the village and Swanage Bay. Add to that the tea rooms that do a fantastic all-day breakfast, jacket potatoes etc. or tea and cake and there is pretty much something for everyone.

We got a very friendly welcome from Farmer Steve and all the staff each time we visited.

Thank you for your fantastic comments. We are trying extremely hard in these uncertain times and comments like this really help. Hope to see you again soon when the softplay can reopen 🤞🤞🤞

Very overpriced and not worth the money at all. Barely anything there! Staff were really rude to us (the farmer)... I suggest you learn some customer service and how to be polite.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your day at Putlake and thought it was expensive. We have reduced the price as much as possible, due to the softplay being closed, however we still need to ensure we can feed the animals. Prices are displayed before entry. The owner may have seemed rude to you but having recently lost livestock due to worrying/attacks he is very jittery when finding people in pens chasing the animals around! Our animals wellbeing is the top priority at the farm and the farmer does not find this behaviour acceptable. We do hope you find another farm more accommodating and again thank you for your comment.
