City Airport is a General and Business Aviation Airfield in Greater Manchester. Opened in 1930, this unique location features grass runways and a historic Control Tower building. Open to the general public, with free parking, viewing/picnic area and a viewing balcony, it is an idea day out for all ages. See the airport in action with a variety of aircraft, helicopters, microlights. Also home to Police Helicopter Services and the North West Air Ambulance Charity.

It's great how close you can get to the planes. Also seems to be lots of activity. Highly recommended for a trip out with young children that like transport.

It is a good place to see aircraft, the balcony on the control tower is superb, access here is for the able bodied, the cafe is good and everyone is friendly. Do not forget you have a £12 head start over Manchester Airport Viewing Park....More
