We attended a lovely event at the windmill. It was Teddy Bear’s picnic themed with lots of fun activities and a gorgeous woodland walk. The volunteers and staff made us feel very welcome. It was also very picturesque eating our lunch with the backdrop of the pond and windmill. A lovely community hub that we will return to in future. Thank you.

Lovely windmill and the man giving the windmill tour was great. Really engaged with the children and had them captivated. However it is a shame that not all of the volunteers/staff were as friendly. One lady was very impatient with my boy who was trying to look at the trail on the clipboard. She was very rude and abrupt. She would do well to remember that some children have hidden learning difficulties and these require patience and not nagging and rudeness. Maybe she will read this and take note next time there is a family friendly event on at the Windmill.

Although the visitor part of it was closed, nothing could take away the majestic windmill standing proudly for all to see. In the carpark at the rear of this a beautiful traction truck had just pulled in from Winchester. Had a lovely chat with the team, who were eating bacon and sausage cooked on the engine. Even climbed up to whirl the steering wheel. Unexpected but lovely

We 3 adults and two children around 9 years old visited the windmill - the windmill outside is superb very well preserved and inside has been restored to fully working order. Worth a visit if you haven't seen this windmill before and the guide is include for £5.00 in the price and expect to stay there around 2 hours, the guide is very knowledgeable. However repeated visits to the Windmill you would not expect to requiring a tour guide and I don't think there is an admission price that excludes the tour guide. If it was it should the admission price should be much lower like £2.50 - £3.00

Very busy weekend for the windmill but we had a lovely couple of hours here. We had a guided tour which was very interesting. The children made some corn dollys and had a go at grinding flour. There was also a tractor trail round the woodland with a sweetie prize at the end which was very popular!

We 3 adults (one with a disability) visited the windmill 01/07/2018. Our experience was very informitive and very enjoyable. Our guides were very friendly and knowlable and passionate about the windmill. They were also very helpful to our son with his disability. We would throughly recommend a visit. These heritage sites need the public support or they wont be there for the next generation. Please go and enjoy for what it is.

Only opens Saturday and Sunday (March 3rd 2018 to November 25th 2018 .. ) .. but saying that it looks a lovely restored Windmill in a very pretty area .. We will return on a weekend ..

We live close to the windmill and have been keen to visit. We ended up being grateful we hadn’t travelled far!!! From entering it was haphazard - we were just told that a dvd would be shown then when a colleague returned he would tell us more about the windmill. This was just presented as what would happen not whether or not we’d like to watch a film or that the colleague was actually the organised tour for the mill. We waited ages....then the tour group was very large. However, the guide was just dreadful - he seemed uncomfortable, made bad quips and whilst obviously knowledgeable he made the subject very dull. The whole experience should have been so much more - really disappointing.

Visited yesterday with our toddler. Was a rainy day but didn't stop us, inexpensive entry, lovely mill house activity centre with toddler toys as well which helped and a lovely tour inside the windmill. Toddler was tired so we didn't do the woodland walk but will be back in the Summer no doubt so will do it then.
Fab paper activities to do such as word search/cross words which you can take home with you and situated by a pond which is lovely (and safely fenced off).

Will it be working on the 30th July. It's looks as if it will be windy?

The website says it is open from 10.00am but their are no contact details for the day - it will be a trip over to see if the wind is acceptable and the operator is 'on for that day' for the windmill to be operational as opposed to view only. You can park up, go into the site and ask what is available before paying (cash only) and committing yourself.
