- Carl J1 contributionNot very goodJust a shame that there seemed to be a limited amount of animals about. No explanation to why so few ?! Lots of goats!!! The baby changing needs a total revamp!.Wouldn’t want to change an animal in there, let alone a baby. Just a poor experience as we’ve been there before and it was a lovely couple of hours out.Thank you for taking the time to write a review, regarding the animals there were signs on the way in and on the website/facebook explaining that due to the wettest March we have ever encountered some of the animals could not be put into the fields you could still see them though. Perhaps you could of asked a member of staff to explain for most people it is pretty obvious that animals do not really like wet muddy conditions and its not good for them unless they are a Pig. As for the changing room we do clean it but sometimes the public can be very untidy, I can only apologise if it seemed dirty.Written 3 April 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 1 April 2023
- Lorraine E1 contributionUnhappy experienceVery few animals to see. Over priced £6 adult & children over 2 years £4 not even half the adult price! We had 4 adults and two toddlers £32 thats before buying animal food £1.50 each. Staff at entry miserable we mistakably walked in wrong way with baby & toddler in double buggy & made to walk round again! Food very overpriced £3.20 a coffee & poor quality food. Signage NO picnics!!!!! Toilets absolutely filthy could see they havnt been cleaned thoroughly for a while. Everyone is struggling now why rip off families when times are hard why not be a bit fairer & encourage people to come back. Also the fence at front of farm to the left had a gap where toddlers could run straight through into the busy road from the grass area near the benches we warned parents of it as this is where the kids could run around. Its such a shame but we wont be returning anytime soonThank you for your review sorry you felt it was too expensive ? we get many visitors who say we are cheap so we cant please everybody. As for you not seeing the Entrance sign not our fault and we would of made you walk back as there is a fence in the way , sorry this inconvenienced you. Yes everyone is struggling even us with ever increasing utility bills, vet bills, food bills, wages and various sundries so how can we reduce it and make it fairer that just does not make sense. Yes there is a gap on the lawn never has been a fence there but ideally Children should not be running around without supervision where are the supervisors probably sitting on a bench gossiping. As for the Toilets we do clean them but sometimes they can get untidy 5 mins after a check. Shame you will not visit again or is it.Written 4 April 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2023Written 3 April 2023
- Eileen J2 contributionsNice little farm - one grumpy man that works there …This is a really nice farm, animals running freely around you . Pots of food relatively cheap £1.50 for a small bucket and £2.50 for a large. We went with friends and all the children loved it . The only thing I would say is that the staff member ( older man) was very grumpy and rude. He told my daughter off and upset her for climbing , rather than speaking to me just decided having a go at her was the right thing to do. Baring in mind my daughter doesn’t know him and he has no idea if she has or had additional needs . We were asked to leave by him when I confronted him which we did ( as we were leaving anyway)Thank you and glad you like the farm. Sorry for being grumpy but but if i notice an unattended child standing on one of the rides in danger i will leave the entrance area and tell them quickly, to get off please, as i have to get back to waiting customers. On this occasion i had to go back again as the same child was doing it again if they fall off and have an injury it is me that has to deal with it and also other children were sitting in the ride with parents taking pictures its not nice when someone is standing on top at the same time. You were asked to leave because you became abusive to me and others around you.Written 4 August 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 1 August 2023

Nice for the grandchildren - Shame it's within the ULEZ zone
I got hit with a 12.50 charge for the privilege and sadly will not be returning because of it.
We simply will not be able to afford repeat visits and this is a real shame for the upkeep of places like this

I’ve been a few times before and had always enjoyed it with the kids, it’s a small farm where you can feed the animals but todays visit some of the animals didn’t look in the best condition. There were buckets that had been chucked into the pens and some of these were brocket leaving sharp bits of plastic exposed with the farm animals. I also saw a boy aged about 11-12 slap one of the donkeys in the face and punch one of the goats by the time I saw staff the family with the boy were walking out. I know they aren’t responsible for publics bad behaviour but if your animals are exposed to the public you have a duty of care to give them some protection.
Further to add that some of the animals were clearly being over fed as there is no limit or regulations on people feeding them while some of the less dominant animals seemed to be pretty thin.

Thank you and yes the Public can be very mean and untidy we do go round and ask people to leave if we see mistreating going on. I generally blame the parents. We do regulate the feed intake and make sure the Animals are all fed after 40 years of being open we generally know what to feed and when to stop selling feed etc. Thank you

Nice to spend a few hours out wandering around this family oriented farm. Lots of sheep and goats, two hilarious and cute cows, ponies, pigs, donkeys and Alpacas.
We always get buckets of feed and without doubt the greediest were the goats lol. But they are so adorable you really dont mind.
Snack bar serves sandwiches, hot dogs, cakes, ice cream etc. Quite reasonably priced. Nice picnic area under the trees. Parking can be an issue but we got a space in the car park which is so much easier as a blue badge holder.
Recommend for younger children.
Have fun

Have been coming here for years, lovely little farm and very friendly staff. Animals are well looked after and have plenty of space to roam. Christmas Tree Farm is such a happy place to be, to feel free and breathe, with this in mind some parents need to supervise their little ones more closely to keep them safe AND prevent them from climbing on the vending machines and causing unnecessary stress for the staff.

Small little farm where you can buy a small bucket of food to feed the animals. £6 entry for adults and £4 for kids over 2. However……NO CONCESSION FOR CARERS!!! We won’t be returning. Most places do a free carers entry. If someone has a need to bring a carer due to to additional needs of any kind there should be some sort of discount/concession. Not the case here, hence we won’t be returning. This affects not only children with complex needs and those in wheelchairs but also adults. Not a good look I’m afraid. BETTER DISABILITY AWARENESS REQUIRED HERE. ⛔️⛔️⛔️⛔️⛔️

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy life to write a review as you say a small little farm with a small price a lot of our customers including carers think we are too cheap to offer discounts we feel we offer good value. I am sorry but being a small independent farm we cannot offer free entry. As for Disability awareness we have employed disabled workers in the past through an education programme and we have many repeat disabled customers so do not understand that part.
It seems from your previous reviews of other establishments you are a serial complainer who enjoys the high life of eating out on numerous occasions sorry but I thought you were trying to save money due to the cost of living I for one would like to try Sexy Fish and the Ivy but found them out of my price league. I am pleased and sorry you will not visit again. I wish you luck in finding a decent takeaway you might like. (and we do offer discounts at our discretion)

Heard good things about this farm, thought I would give it a go was surprised by how good it was for the price against its more expensive competition, animals happy and well looked after, very hands on experience with animals and even animal feed was a reasonable price. Free parking and easy to get to will definitely be returning hopefully on a drier day next time !

Lovely little farm, with lots of animals to feed which is great but it is very small, can be done in 20miutes, this would be more aimed at pre school/infant school ages

Thank you for visiting, yes some can go around very quick but the average family spend an Hour or Two here enjoying the refreshments as well as the Animals. Thank you hope we will see you again soon to feed and see the Animals.

Had a fabulous morning here and apart from the “no picnic” rule I can find no faults at all. As a childminder buying food for all of the children would cost me far to much money and I won’t ask parents to pay as I feel they pay enough already. I would come back but we wouldn’t be able to stay for any length of time (children like to eat )so probably won’t 😞
The animals are fabulous and I loved being able to give the children the experience of feeding them.

Thank you sounds like you had a great time at the farm. Yes we do have a no picnic rule as the garden area is reserved for customers of the Kitchen if we allowed picnics then opening the Kitchen would not be viable. You are welcome to bring a picnic and use the nearby parks situated in the village where there are benches swings and other playground rides. We hope we will see you again.

I was a litle concerned regarding existing poor reviews so took my two grandchildren for the afternoon with caution. I did not witness any adverse conditions of animal welfare or poor toilets and found the prices of the cafe acceptable (especially when compared with Bedgebury which is overpriced)
Apart from the pigs, which you are warned about, all the livestock is carefully selected to be gentle and hence very children friendly. Only hairy lips taking the food fromlittle hands
My big criticism is that it is obviously a family event but food and drink is not permitted to be consumed unless it is purchased from their cafe. You are also charged £1.50 CASH ONLY for a modest sized kiddies bucket of animal feed. Cute idea charging you to feed their animals
Overall, a worthwhile trip

Thank you for your positive review and we are pleased you enjoyed the farm, yes unfortunately we do not allow picnics on the farm as the area is reserved for customers of the Kitchen area, selling our own refreshments allows us to keep going and keep the farm viable. As for the feed we do encourage cash for small amounts helps us in busy times as its much quicker also helps the children learn basic maths skills when they produce a couple of pound coins. Once again thank you for visiting and we hope we will see you again very soon
