We came here primary to see the castle, didn't go inside as we have seen too many castles and the inside is usually a disappointment. The castle was build from 1350 - 1401 and the Teutonic knights resided here first. Today you can go and stay there yourself as it's also a hotel.

I recently visited Reszel Castle. After a renowation in 2001, part of it houses a hotel with a restaurant and a branch of the Museum of Warmia i Mazury. There you can see an exhibition of medieval torture instruments. history says that in1811 the last witch in Europe was burned in the castle.

The castle is nice, especially from outside. Inside it is mostly an hotel and restaurant, parts if which you can't visit. The ticket is far too expensive for what you can see (the tower and dungeons).

The Reszel castle, an Ordensburg fortress, was built in between 1350 and 1401 by the Teutonic Order. In the nineteenth century it was adapted into a prison, next it was fully renovated after the Second World War.
Currently the castle houses the museum , hotel and a restaurant.

The Castle, besides its rich history, houses a museum of medieval torture techniques. But above all, it offers spectacular views.

The Reszel Castle has a rich history dating back to the mid-1300s, having served as a fortress that changed hands frequently, served as a prison in the 19th century, and is not a hotel, restaurant, and museum. This massive structure is worth seeing.

Stunning in comparison to other hotels in the region. Still very simple Polish hospitality, but comfortable beds, fantasticly good food and friendly smiling service. English speaking.

We did not stay at the Castle nor did we eat at the restaurant. I mistakenly thought we would be be touring a castle. Admission is to the Torture Museum, which was interesting but in hindsight it was not really worth the stop and hassle of parking (which was quite limited at the time of our visit).

We were told we would enjoy this stop on our trip and we did. We had the great fortune of getting to sleep in the castle for 2 nights. Your hosts will take great care of you. The restaurant and bar are good. The dungeon is as gruesome as they get with all the instruments of torture that a sick , evil, human can imagine. The tower goes up and up and up into the sky. The sunset is beautiful to witness from this vantage point.

I was born in Masuria, near Reszel, so I visited the castle many times. The last time I was there about 7-10 years ago, but after renovation this castle is one of the best attractions in Masuria. It is well-restored, has fantastic catering and hotel facilities, and the town itself is very charming.
One of the attractions that delighted my 10-year-old daughter was the exhibition of torture tools.
From the observation tower, on the other hand, we can admire the beautiful panorama of the city!
And the prices are very attractive: 14 PLN adult, approx. 12 PLN child.
I would recommend it!
