A really lovely walk on and off roads. Views spectacular all around you as you climb the main hill. On a clear day views would be incredible at the top. Unfortunately we had very windy and wet weather as we reached the top but it...More

If you don't' want the challenge of the Burren Walk or the Blackhead Loop…the Caher Valley Loop is a perfect taste of what the area has to offer. Rocks and hills and rocks and valleys and rocks and views and rocks and rivers. Stunning.

This loop takes you directly by where I was staying on - as the Irish say - "an unknown road." It is ideal for hikers, bikers or even puttering in car. The views are spectacular. An you are off the grid. No GPS, no cell...More

Less than perfect day but a great walk regardless. 1000 feet up from the car park along the top of The Burren, where the sky cleared for a moment to give views out the the Aran Islands. On a clear day views would have been...More

The loop provides one with nature at its best, the views incredible, the mythical surroundings a constant and the walk a slight challenge. Welcome to the Burren!

Our host Susan Daly recommended two walks and both were winners. We started with the Caher Valley Circular Walk from the beach car park at Fanore, a small seaside village on the north west coast of Co Clare, 14 km north of Doolin. This was...More

This is a great, quite easy and short loop, perfect for a half-day hike. The loop is a bit steep at the start, but quickly comes to a flat ground and then downwards to Fanore cross. The views from the Burren rocks, to the gentle...More

The loop is 14.5kms from the Fanore Beach car park. We'll sign posted the views are great. Recommend walking clockwise so the best views are saved for the last 4-5kms as you descend down the hill looking across to the Aran Islands, Fanore Beach and...More
