About
Enjoy the amazing animals within 50 acres of mature ancient New Forest woodland, with its popular adventure playgrounds. Follow the woodland trails and walk with the wallabies, see the European bison, and wild boar, spot the lynx, pine marten, polecats, owls, ferrets and more. Meet the friendly deer in their deer encounter enclosure and say hi to the playful otters, including the endangered giant otter family. There are daily keeper talk feeding sessions, two amazing playgrounds for under 6's and over 6's and special events throughout the year. The otters are amazing! The whole place is lovely to walk around. A great variety of animals and brilliant play areas.
Special mention must go to the keeper who did a talk about Muckle the barn owl - my 6 year old nephew is a chatterbox and very inquisitive. The keeper was great with him and answered all of his questions. He's now decided he'd like to be a wildlife photographer!

Such a lovely review to read. So glad you had a great visit. Our keepers love to talk to our visitors, especially when it comes to chatting and sharing knowledge on our wonderful resident animals! We hope to see your nephew in many years time taking photographs in the wildlife park!

Very good value for money. Not a huge site but the play areas were very good and almost worth just visiting them! Mainly otters, owls and deer but we managed to see all the animals except the lynx! Food was priced ok as two ice creams cost £5 but the gift shop soft toys were expensive. Overall a good day out for under 12s.

Thank you for your visit. Our play areas often get as much attention from our visitors as our animals!
Our sister lynx, Tora and Inga, can be very elusive and although they are not fed everyday, it's worth attending a feeding time Keeper Talk (currently taking place at 3:30pm) on a day they are fed, as this is likely to be when you see them.
See you again soon!

Had an amazing day out with our granddaughter. She was doing the Bronze keeper experience we purchased for her 9th birthday. She fed the animals chosen before visit, then had the bonus of feeding some more animals. Our granddaughter said ‘It was the best day ever’ and has been talking about it since! Our guide was Poppy, who was very knowledgable and friendly. Thank you Poppy for making it such a memorable day.

We loved the park, the way it was laid out, the talks and feeding, animal staff were great friendly in formative and enthusiastic. Animals well cared for. We did not however enjoy our lunch. The cafe had 2 staff standing around and were very unhelpful and actually a bit rude when I asked about other options of sandwiches. I am veggie and cannot have cucumber. The only option was a prepacked gluten free cheese and tomato sandwich with a sliver of pathetic cheese and a sliver of tasteless tomato. All the sandwiches were prepacked and it felt like a bad cafe from the 70s. Very disappointing. Coffee from a costa machine do it yourself. Despite full cooking facilities. Recommend leaving and going elsewhere for lunch.

Absoutley brilliant day on a silver keepers experience. We fed loads of animals and were guided around by Jeff who was great and very knowledgeable. He told us loads of facts about the animals. Highly recommend this experience.

Nice way to spend a couple of hours. We had dogs with us so took it in turns to go inside. I was lucky and managed to catch the wolf feed/talk. The keeper did a great job and was very informative, however she had such a big crowd she had to shout- and she admitted at the end of the holidays she was a bit horse- a little microphone would have helped. My other half was taken with the otters and spent about half an hour with them! Great value for money and would come again.

I'm so pleased that you and your partner managed to both enjoy the park. Unfortunately due to the welfare of our animals we are not able to let dogs (with the exception of guide dogs) into the park and we appreciate your understanding of this.
Thank you for your suggestion which will be taken on board and for a lovely review!

We had a great time at the wildlife park. The park is made for kids with many play areas and animals to see. Nice selection of animals, we really enjoyed the deer and lynx talks. The staff were very friendly and always happy to talk about their animals. We spent around 5 hours here and the kids loved it.

Brilliant. Loved it. We visited here just before going home after seeing MonkeyWorld and the New Forest. We had just booked this for something to do before we went home as it was close driving distance to our hotel in Lyndhurst, and it exceeded our expectations. Otters, wolves, lynx, wild boars, owls, deers, ferrets etc. Easy to walk around. Would definitely recommend this place if staying nearby. Play areas for small kids and even bigger kids, too.

An absolutely amazing day out, we purchased the keeper experience for two and had such a good time. We managed to feed and see multiple of the animals around the park as well. Special thanks to Geoff and Tristian who showed us around and were super knowledgeable about everything, they made my birthday one I won't forget! There's plenty of play areas for the kids as well and loads of things to do for people of all ages. Highly recommend to everyone.

Is there a picnic area so we can bring our own food ?
Written 23 January 2025
We read the food in the cafe inside the park isn't great, so we are planning to bring our own. Are there any places we can sit in privacy and eat in the jungle?
Written 31 July 2021
Hi, is this suitable for a very hot day with little children? Is there lots of shade?
Thanks!
Written 26 August 2019
There is plenty of shade around the trail - but some areas will be in the sun.
Car park is in the sun most of the day.

Hi I'm thinking of buying a ticket but worriedthis might be a zoo...I do not wish to contribute to inhumane acts of society and pay 12 pounds to get in. What are your thoughts?
Written 5 August 2019
This didn’t feel like a zoo to me. Whilst obviously it does contain captive animals the keepers seemed to make a genuine effort to keep the animals happy and stimulated, in a situation similar to their natural environment. Also many of the animals were there because it was necessary for someone to look after them, for various reasons. Furthermore, many of the animals are endangered, so it can help in the short term to hold some in captivity, particularly as some are part of breeding programmes.
Hope that helps!

Please see their website for ticket prices.
In my opinion it is too expensive for what it was.
Save your money and go somewhere else.
Written 6 August 2019
Hi, is it possible to book tickets online for a specific day ? Thanks .
Written 15 July 2019
Hi,
How long typically do people spend here? Toying between Marwell Zoo & here - so just trying to compare - other than the obvious!
Thank you
Written 28 February 2019
On average about 2 to 3 hours to walk around at a leisurely pace. Maybe a bit longer if you wish to Take in a few of the various talks and feeding of the animals
Written 2 July 2019
Hello,
No dogs are not allowed in the park. There are areas where the animals are roaming free in the enclosure.
