About
Crocodile Lake is home to over 200 Siamese crocs and is one of the Cat Tien National Park highlights. The lake is accessible via two different routes. The easier option involves a 9km drive or bike ride from the park headquarters and a 5km trek to the swamp. The trek is also one of the best areas to see wildlife in the park with frequent sightings of primates, mammals, snakes, birds and insects.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I've been here several times, and will be back as much as possible. The flora and fauna on the way to the lake is worth the bike ride and trek alone. Then you get to the lake! Teeming with crocodiles and birds (come early, they nap after 10 or 11am), you won't be disappointed.

I went there last year. A peaceful place with a nice trail in the jungle, very few tourists. Be careful, my friend and I were not prepared to encounter so many leeches during the trail in the jungle. You must bring a pair of trouser with you and "leech resistant" socks (leeches can go through standard sport socks). We might have been particularly unlucky this day, but know that if you're not prepared you can easily end up with 20 leeches on your legs. I even had one on my forehead :D

Great short jungle hike.
Start early, when the animals are active, it gets hotter quickly and then the jungle is going into rest mode.
We did the first 9 km by jeep. You can also choose to walk or go by bike.
The last 5 km are really on narrow paths through the forest, the walk is easy with no major elevations. Leech socks are recommended, we saw quite some leeches on our legs.
There were plenty crocodiles in the lake. You can see them swim. One even came out of the water for a short while. There is an observation platform where you can also order drinks. The place is very peaceful.
If you like, you can also have someone give you a boat ride for about 100/150k Dong, to get closer to the animals. It's a row boat, no engine.
Be aware that whatever you hike/bike, you also have to hike/bike back.
Don't underestimate the heat, even the distance sounds like a piece of cake. Take plenty of water or buy water for your way back at the observation platform.

It was kind of hard to get there. Because of the wet season the roads were very muddy so we had to get off our bikes sometimes. The bike ride was 9 km and after you still need to walk another 5 km through the jungle. There is a path in the jungle so it’s not difficult to walk. The lake is beautiful but we didn’t see crocodiles unfortunately. We only saw one baby-crocodile. So don’t get all excited about the crocodiles when you go here because they hide themselves very well. We made a boat trip around the lake which was nice. Otherwise not much to do there but the hike through the jungle is already beautiful itself. You can even spot some animals on the way there if you’re quiet. It was a nice trip but in my opinion the price is a bit too expensive for what it is (entry to the lake is 140.000 vnd, ferry to the park 60.000 vnd, bycicle rent 150.000 vnd). Especially the entry to the lake is kind of overpriced.

We enjoyed the walk to crocodile lake. We took a ride from the park center to the entrance to the trail to the lake. We walked about 2 hours to get to the lake on a rock/cement trail. Very easy walking and no mud. We saw monkeys along the way.
The lake is large and beautiful. The park service folks stay there and offer lunch to folks on the tour. You can also arrange to stay there. I wish we had know that but we were staying at TaLai Longhouse which was lovely too.
