You'll see very rare animals and they are very well taken care of. It's a wonderful and relaxing experience to walk through this zoo.The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also the zoo takes part in several breeding programs and ecological projects. One of the best zoos we ever visited. Ria from Bruges, Belgium

We thought this was one of the best zoos we have ever visited. Such a nice surprise for a place so tucked away. Can't recommend it enough.

Small zoo with a limited variety of animals but pleasant and interesting nonetheless. It has a nice layout with various areas where one is in the same enclosure as the animals, making observation easier. The animals looked well-cared for and act naturally in their carefully recreated habitats. My son especially enjoyed looking at the gibbons' antics. Recommended.

We had a warm and helpful welcome to this zoo. We were delighted to be guided by a young man of the staff who was feeding the otters, the mongoose and the lemurs which was great fun. We went into the lemur area which is open to the public so the lemurs run around you. He was hand feeding them... More

This is in English for all those anglophones and bilingual readers who find themselves in the region. We British are often very retiscent about the idea of animals in enclosures but Valérie, Luc and all the team at the Zoo d'Asson are committed to the well-being of each animal, to developing the optimum conditions and to the preservation of endangered... I have visited zoo d'asson a few times as I have been with both my family and also various friends who come to stay at my parents holiday home near Argeles-Gazost. The zoo has always been lovely, and when you are looking at the snow leopards or monkeys virtually alone, it is much nicer than being in a larger and... More

I usually don't like zoo's...it's sad to see the animals penned up in little cages and pacing back and forth-not here. The place has a family run, cozy feel, like the people really care, the grounds are well kept and clean and the animals look truly happy. Alot of the animals are running free (just enter a gated area) like... More

The zoo is quaint but very nice, the animals all have big enclosures. The stars of the zoo are the snow leopards ans the lemurs, who are moving into a new, bigger enclosure. You can buy some popcorn to feed some of the animals, including the peacocks and walabies who walk around the zoo. You can also watch the zookeepers... More
