About
The name Torres has been associated with wine ever since the family planted their first vineyards in Penedes more than three centuries ago. From the very beginning, since 1870 when the company was founded, Familia Torres has been true to its roots and has received worldwide recognition for its wines and brandies. The winery is only a 40 minute drive from Barcelona, surrounded by one of the most emblematic vineyards of the family - Mas La Plana, the birthplace of the prestigious red wine with the same name - and it is an ideal place to experience a great variety of unique activities, exclusive visits, wine tastings and several gastronomic options we offer.

Visited these yards for a winerylunch. Food was very good for the price and also good wines served with reasonable prices. Center was pretty crowded during sunny saturday but service was fast and professional. Nice place.

Had a very good tasting hosted by Teresa.
Teresa you have done wonderful. And it was a pleasure to meet you too Louise.
The wines have their price but live up to it, totally!
Don’t expect to get them cheap as they are quality!
The Torres House is a fine vineyard with many varieties of wines. It’s worth a visit!
We’ve been to great and renowned houses in Italy 🇮🇹 and Torres is a great and renowned house in Spain 🇪🇸

This was one of the most boring tours I have ever been on. I like wine (I am a student after all), and was looking forward to the tour, particularly tasting the wines. But no, there was only a tasting of ONE red wine. It was ok, but I wasn't in love with it. I thought free wine tasting involved tasting several wines, but apparently it does not. If you want to pay an additional 2 euros you can taste another wine.
We were also herded round a museum of wine making paraphernalia, which was mildly interesting at best. After the disappointing wine tasting, we got the pleasure of watching a film I can only assume is titled "All Hail Torres", because that is what it was. Torres family propaganda about how wonderful they are. Finally, we took a cramped bus tour round the vineyards, into some sort of giant concrete car park and through where the wines are stored. None of it was scintillating.
At the end we were given the chance to purchase some wines from the extensive shop. We chose not to, as without a tasting, how were we to know what they were like? Very disappointing.

This is a fun day trip out of Barcelona. You have to take the Renfe train which is easy to do to/from. Once you get to the town of Villafranca there are taxis there that can take you to the winery. The tour guides speak English really well, and the tour is surprisingly good. We did a four glass tasting for about $15/person and I think it was worth it. Torres produces lots of types of wines, so it was nice to get to sample them.

If you are organizing a trip, watch out because you won't get what you expect.
With the worldwide fame and prestige associated with the Torres name, we were very much disappointed with our visit here. We brought a group of 14 cyclists for the tour and we reserved to have brunch as well.
As the group arrived, it started to pour down rain and thunder and everyone waited with their bikes under a shelter. We were very surprised at their unprofessionality that they weren’t ready for us and didn’t have anywhere for us to put the bikes after reassuring us by phone that everything would be arranged.
Lunch experience was even worse. For a group of 14, we had reserved brunch for 12 and appetizers for 10, with a total cost of almost 400 euros. A total rip-off. Everything served was unbelievably tiny (you couldn’t tell from the menu) and of poor quality. It really hurt for the money paid and our expectations of surprising the group with a treat.
So for your reference, I’d rather recommend visiting another winery, and of course eating out somewhere else. I can recommend the nearby little café at Castellvi. A real country place with organic homemade food.

Torres wines are one of favourite brands of wine. So we found this tour very interesting and well worth the trip.
We travelled to Vilafranca by train from Sitges with one change ( 10 min wait between trains). Train took just over an hour. and cost 6-7 euros return. From the station at Vilafranca we easily found a taxi parked outside for the 10 min drive at a cost of 10 euro to Bodegas Torres.
We took the tour and 5 wine tastings ( total of 13 euros) and it was worth every euro including a few tapas afterwards and a bit more wine tasting.
We thoroughly enjoyed the film abour Torres wine, train journey through the vineyard, visit to the cellar and bottling factory and then the wine tasting. It was interesting to find out about the range of Torres wines across the world and their commitment to the environment.
What is the point of having the one wine tasting..... go for the five.... unless you are driving, of course!
Well stocked shop available after tour to extend your Torres experience once you get back to your base.
Receptionist was very helpful and called a taxi to take us back to the train station. We really enjoyed the opportunity to taste some Torres wines that are not available in the UK.

We went here as part of a Busplana tour. What does "Wine tasting also included in the price" mean to you? If it means a mouthful of red wine splashed into a glass AND NOTHING ELSE, then this is the tour for you. Yes, that's all. One mouthful of red wine. And no choice of red or white - it's take it or leave it. I repeat - one mouthful. You can pay for more wine to taste - at the cost of 2.50 for a part glass. Oh, I almost forget. You get a mini breadstick, too.
There is a museum of wine-related paraphernalia, which is mildly interesting. You are taken into a theatre and shown a film which tells you time and time again how wonderful the Torres family is - innovative, forward-thinking, environmentally friendly - and so on.
Then, we were herded onto a trolley bus. I do mean herded. Adults were made to take their children onto their laps, even when they were aged around 11, and we all crushed on. You are given headphones to listen to a commentary. This has some interesting points to make, but mostly in continues in the "Torres Family is Wonderful" theme. You drive into what looks and feels like the ground floor of a multi-storey car park where the bus stops and you sit in the dark. Well, you do if you were on my side of the bus. Unbeknownst to me, a film was being projected onto the right hand side wall. I just couldn't see it because of the children sitting on their parents' laps. Then we moved, drove past some barrels and it's into the shop. In a thoroughly bad mood by now, we bought nothing (this was just as well - it's much cheaper in the supermarkets or duty free). All the Russians on the trip were seriously impressed, buying up armfuls of stock.
The whole experience was dull, superficial and sterile. At no point did I feel connected to the world of wine-making. There was no intimacy and no sense of being welcome. I came away feeling cheated. Time spent on holiday is precious, and this place wasted mine. Many years ago, I visited the Cordorniu cava caves nearby. That was a wonderful and fascinating tour and I still buy their Cava to this day. I left this place feeling so annoyed that my one mouthful of wine is all I will ever taste.

Dear rjwelter2017
Thank you for your interest in our winery. We have several different tour and wine tasting options; you will find them all on our Club Torres web page. To highlight a couple, we offer the winery tour with a tasting of two different wines for 9€, but you can do the same tour with a different tasting at the end, for example a pairing of four wines and four cheeses, which would be 19€ per person for the tour and pairing.
We also have our Premium Tour, a private tour with a special tasting of five of our top wines and some tapas in the VIP Lounge of our Waltraud Cellar. The price of this personalized visit is a total of 260€ for 1-5 people, or if you are 6 or more, it is 52€ per person.
You can choose the option that best suits your needs and make the reservation directly via our page.
Hoping to see you soon,
Cordially,
