The views are very photographic. Lots of cafes and restaurant with a view of lake taupo which is totally worth to spend money on. Take a sail in the lake on nice sunny day.

Incredible views, incredible people, incredible weather LOVE TAUPO! Its most definitely a place to visit and stay! so many attractions, bars, restaurants and activities! fun for all ages and any time of year!

Couldn't fault the beauty of this Taupo Lake, with the exception of the day we tried to fish in it, it was too windy.

We were lucky enough to have a beautiful view right across the lake to the mountains from our hotel. There was even snow on the mountains - in April!!! Great cafés,restaurants and shops to investigate plus lots of outdoor activities to do in this area....More

I would recommend walking around the lake as the sun is setting...it is absolutely stunning watching it set over the mountains.

They are by no means the tallest falls but the power is amazing to see. You can get close to the falls and there are walks and boat trips to the falls. there is certainly a " wow " factor.

This place is so beautiful with free camping places all over the place right on the water!!! The hot springs in the free park are to die for! I couldn't believe this place was for real! we headed there after our long hike to relax...More
