The Body Retreat supports busy women regain control of their wellbeing, weight and fitness. Whether its time to de-stress, detox, improve fitness or weight loss you are looking for The Body Retreat has a 7 day residential programme to suit you. The Body Retreat locations are in private houses set in their own grounds with private Pool and Spa facilities. The Body Retreat has locations in Somerset, France and Andalucia Spain.

    Wonderful weight loss retreat
    I’ve just finished my 4 visit to The Body Retreat and once again for me it was a total success. The exercises with Julie are varied, the walks so scenic, the meals are yummy and workshops by Juls so informative and really interesting. Outside instructors are bought in for Pilates Yoga Zumba and aqua aerobics. A nutritionist comes from London to do a workshop too. The accommodation is 5*. Each retreater goes for their own reasons but soon gel and become a friendly welcoming group. A wonderful week. Thank you Julie and Juls, not forgetting Bella and Bailey the retreat dogs.

    A great reset
    Just back from a wonderful week at the Body Retreat. A great reset and start to a healthier lifestyle, with an excellent mix of walks, activities and practical ideas on how to tweak my daily routine to make lasting change. Julie and Juls are welcoming and knowledgeable hosts, and the Dorset location just glorious. Highly recommended!

    A return visit to recharge and reset!
    Another fabulous week with the Body Retreat, and each time I learn something new. I’ve been joining the Body Retreat since 2018 and always feel so supported by Juls and Julie whichever retreat I choose. With a big birthday on the horizon, this time I was looking for a chance to recharge and reset for the decade ahead! A wonderful mix of returners and new joiners started the week and we left as firm friends. Julie defied the weather with our daily walks in the glorious Dorset countryside and with activities indoors and out, and fascinating workshops, we really made the most of the week. Juls’ seasonal cooking was delicious and varied. I don’t know how she does it! If you are hesitating to sign up, please take the plunge. I can’t recommend it more.

    Excellent weight loss and stress relief retreat
    Superb retreat. Highly recommended. All very practical advice that can be carried on with at home. Juls and Julie are so knowledgable. I went on the stress reset retreat - plenty of talks and workshops alongside great workouts and walks. Food is fantastic - you don't go hungry - but you do lose weight. Venue is very comfortable. Ideal for kickstarting a fitness habit.

    Fantastic way to reboot your health and fitness
    This was such a great experience - I can’t recommend it highly enough! The workouts were challenging for me but I was so glad to be pushed out of my comfort zone. Great workshops, wonderful walks in gorgeous Dorset countryside and really excellent nutritious food. I learnt so much and lost 7 lbs!

    The body retreat is 10/10!
    Loved every aspect of this retreat. Great food, wonderful company, incredible options for exercise and being active but lots of down time to read and reflect as well. Education about nutrition, exercise, stress, and sleep rounded out what turned out to be a totally comprehensive life changing intervention. I left lighter, stronger, happier and smarter, with concrete tools to bring what I have learned home with me. I will definitely be back! Thank you Jules and Julie and the rest of the team!

    Bright and Shiny ✨
    My second visit to the Body Retreat, this time for the reset retreat. Last visit was for weight loss. Both visits left me feeling bright and shiny. The balance of good food, exercise and sensible information means I feel confident to carry on the good work now I’m home. I will definitely be back

    My autumn re-leaf retreat
    Another glorious week away with the body retreat! I have just got home from a week on retreat and couldn’t feel better and more motivated. I found the body retreat a few years ago and I’m so glad I was lucky enough to stumble upon the golden standard of retreats! Jules and Julie are experts in their respective fields and you leave with an abundance of knowledge about your body as well as new skills to nourish and look after your body. The level and quality of this retreat is astonishing and worth every penny! You leave feeling cared for with their very personal approach. I couldn’t recommend the retreat enough (not to mention I’ve come back with the glossiest hair)!

    Not just a weight loss week
    The Body Retreat is so much more than 'just a weight loss week'. Great venue in the hills of Dorset. Comfortable rooms, lovely sitting area with fab views of the surrounding countryside. Nice pool - not too big if you are worried about swimming and standard 4 ft all the way along. Morning exercise if 15 min either outside or inside depending on the weather. Nice mix of HIIT training. The walks in the countryside are of varying lengths and are different everyday. Again, great scenery! Afternoons are for another class (including pilates, yoga, aqua fit etc), which gives you the opportunity of trying something new. Various other activities are available, including massage, hypnotherapy, 121 PT sessions. The other side of the retreat is all about food and the science behind what and how we eat. Juls is unbelievably knowledgeable, the workshops are informative, easy to listen to and clear up the confusion around all the marketing we are hit with everyday. TBH it is an eyeopener about how we are manipulated by advertising. The best bit for me was understanding how and what my body needs. Everything from size control (and an easy way to get the portions), what you need on your plate to feel satisfied, breaking down some of the built in behaviours (you must clear your plate), to name but a few. The food was amazing. Tasty and different types provided during the week to illustrate how you can be flexible to suit your lifestyle if you plan ahead. For example you can have a healthy breakfast on the go. Prepare your overnight oats in a jar the night before, pick it up out of the fridge in the morning on your way to work and boom! Satisfying, healthy breakfast which sustains you until lunch! Thank you to Juls and Julie for providing me with the tools to break the bad habits I had fallen into. My health was starting to suffer and this break, gave me the space to get back on track.

    Such a worthwhile experience
    I’ve loved my week at the Body retreat in Dorset. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting 7 lovely ladies. We have exercised hard together, with a variety of activities from beautiful country walks with the body retreat dogs, yoga, HIIT and even weight training, which I particularly enjoyed. We’ve eaten delicious healthy food and taken part in workshops with experts which have been educational and full of useful tips to take home. Most of all, I’ve enjoyed the shared stories and camaraderie of the group, it’s been such a worthwhile experience.

it was a lovely week at Body Retreat. I learned a lot about food and exercise - which I will try to stay with now that I am at home - particularly eating slowly and paying attention to my food while eating. In a relaxed, women only group we were always busy but not rushed and the hot tub was a treat! I lost 7 lbs and felt relaxed and well after I left. It was such a worthwhile week.

I thought that I was pretty genned up about the menopause, but in reality I was also very confused by all of the information out there and the many voices professing expertise.

When I saw that The Body Retreat was launching a Menopause Retreat I leapt on it as I knew that Juls and Julie would cut through a lot of the noise and deliver a science-backed, ‘whole me’ approach.

It more than delivered! They packed the week with experts and workshops which covered everything from pelvic health to specific nutrition to support changes in hormones.

Movement and exercise was tailored to include strength training and impact necessary in midlife, with emphasis on bone health and wellbeing.

The food combined what I know and love about The Body Retreat’s ethos with the nutrition needed for menopause and beyond. For regular retreaters, it was an all-new menu!

As ever with The Body Retreat, on top of the workshops and classes, the hikes and activities, there’s unparalleled access to Juls and Julie and their expertise. Their knowledge and honesty means I returned home well informed, and confident not confused!

Such a restorative week, I highly recommend it for any woman wanting a refreshing restorative reboot, in beautiful surrounding, It is a super supportive safe space, and a personalised experience. I came away re-equipped with lots of tools to maintain my health, physical and psychological, and feeling ten years younger and so much more confident in my body and soul.

Having been looking for a couple of years I finally took the plunge to attend the all women Body Retreat Weight Loss residential course delivered by Julie and Juls.

It was fantastic!

A well balanced Retreat of manageable exercise, nutritional tutorials and exceptional meal plans. To top it off a great welcomed massage too.

Various disciplines of exercise classes, e.g. Pilates, Aqua Aerobics, Zumba, HIIT training, wonderful country walks (mainly off road), all delivered at everyone's standard.

There were 7 attendees to the Retreat that I attended which made it personable and ensured everyone had time to ask many questions as the course was delivered thus all gaining a wide knowledge and tools to commence a healthier lifestyle on return to home.

For me I lost inches and weight but more importantly I have been able to continue on my new pathway and have gained results now I am at home.

Thank you Julie and Juls, the Retreat was perfectly delivered for my requirements.

I’ve just returned from the excellent new Menopause Retreat, and I have to say that it was life-changing. Designed and delivered by women, for women, I learned so much whilst also getting fit, being active, and having fun with a group of women who were all experiencing similar mental and physical issues to me.
Designed for women at various stages of their menopause journey, we were given a series of workshops by fully qualified and trained professionals. Every thing was presented in a clear form, easy to understand, and I learned so much about what was currently happening to my body, and what I could do to support myself. Juls also provided us with delicious food, whilst helping us to understand how the right kind of nutrition would support our bodies, whilst Julie and the various other fitness instructors helped us to understand the best exercises to keep our bodies fit and healthy.
All of this took place in a beautiful farmhouse setting, with lovely accommodation, a swimming pool, and excellent local walks. Everybody I met was friendly, supportive, and fun to spend time with.
Thank you Juls and Julie, I will definitely be doing my best to apply what I learned now I’m back at home.

I have just returned from a lovely week at The Menapause Retreatin Dorset.

Lots of informative talks, lovely food, exercises suited to menapause and a wonderful group of ladies.
Having arrived exhausted I left with knowledge and renewed energy.

This Menopause retreat did everything I hoped for and more. I'm 65 and wasn't sure if t would cover post menopause but it certainly did and everything for those in peri menopause too. I learned so much about hormones nutrition and the right exercises to do that I feel confident I can gain more health, strength and energy. What more? It was fun too.

This is my second time spending a week with The Body Retreat. When I saw they were launching a retreat for Menopause I knew I was in great hands. It’s been incredible. I’ve lost belly fat, re ignited a passion for exercise, re connected with nutrition specifically for this time of life, been educated about what I’m going through to the point that it all makes sense, AND I feel so much less brain fog - good diet and exercise here at the Body Retreat, obviously! Now everyone is different and hearing what other ladies are going through as we all step into the next part of our lives was the best part. You can read books, watch television, but nothing beats hearing good workshops and talking to like minded women. I feel so much less stressed by it all, and better prepared for life ahead. Thank you J &J for a fab time and fantastic food!!
