Took my daughter and her friend for an hour long ride on Dartmoor. Beautiful place and everyone was really professional and friendly. Safety a priority. Payment was really easy and I found it good value for money. Easy parking. Definitely coming back.

7 family members of all ages-converged on Cholwel for a riding trek over Dartmoor . I have to say it was a wonderful experience . Donna and her staff were very professional in their care and tuition particularly for first time riders . The views across Dartmoor were spectacular and the horses were very well behaved and gave it all a very relaxed feel . There was a hot drink available at the end of the trek and it was an invigorating and value for money experience .

Lovely hack over Dartmoor this morning. My daughter can ride but I am a beginner, we both really enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back! My daughter was able to canter with other riders while I was happy to walk and trot!

Booked a 2 hour hack for 14 year old experienced rider. Had a brilliant time on the hack cantering and experiencing the beautiful moor while we went for a walk. Really great set up at the yard and professionally organised with everything running like clockwork. Reasonable prices and highly recommended; we would certainly return for another hack.

I have ridden at many stables over the years but Cholwell is the very best. The combination of fantastic staff, wonderful horses and ponies, and beautiful Dartmoor make it unbeatable. The linchpin is the incredible Donna, who makes these stables so perfect for beginners to advanced riders, and the nervous to the confident.
