A truly remarkable historical site at the ancient Galilean village of Migdal (Magdala). This recently uncovered site is probably a site that Jesus visited and a synagogue in which he read the Torah and preached as an itinerant rabbi History and faith meet at Magdala

We recently visited this site that includes a first century synagogue, as well as a newer spiritual center named Duc In Altum at the crossroads of Jewish and Christian history, which overlooks the Sea of Galilee.

We went to see the excavations at Magdala, a city that was destroyed by the Roman Empire at 73 AD. It was a large city of about 4000 people. We saw remains of the ritual baths, an ancient synagouge dated at about 50 BC with unique colored frescoes and a stone depicting the Temple of Jerusalem. Very much recommended to... More

I went there for the morning and it was phenomenal!!!!! The volunteers were so welcoming. The place had such a historic significance being that it is a 1st century location.

This was one of our most favorite finds in all of Israel! Such peace and a true presence of the Lord. The Magdala stone is incredible and seeing it in person was outstanding. We had the most wonderful volunteer guide show us around. I believe her name was Joanna. Anyway, she gave us really valuable insight to Magdala. Don't miss... More

I love this place! How exciting to see that huge painting of the women with the issue for 12 years! It was so touching that I bought that same painting. It was $30.00 not bad for the small one. My husband said that I should have purchased the bigger one. I regret that. I loved this place. OMG beautiful to... More

This is an archaelogical site where just five years ago a first century synagogue was discovered. There are also ruins of homes and public baths nearby. This is outdoor site was interesting. It isn't very large so you don't need much time to explore itl
