It's worth the stop to take in the beautiful views Emerald Lake has to offer. You can also hike nearby.

This lake is sooo beautiful I would definitely recommend going to this one as well as Lake Louise and Moraine! Go to the beach at the side and you get a beautiful view of the two mountains, that reflect on the water. There is a...More

This is worth the extra drive down the Parkway from Lake Louise as it is less busy and you get a similar experience - just fewer crowds. The colour of the lake is magical and I'd recommend hiring a two person canoe to paddle out...More

Must see. The sight is spectacular. It's just next to Fairmont Hotel. Spend some time walking around the century old hotel too. I don't think it's really worth spending a night at the hotel however since the view is only good in the daytime. One...More

We rented a canoe for an hour and had enough time to paddle to the end of the lake and back. Beautiful photo ops. We then proceeded to walk around the whole lake. It's a very easy walk that takes around 2 hours for the...More

The lake was so tranquil with amazing colours which changes with sunlight. The snow peaks around gives perfect reflections. It took my wife and I about one hour and a half to walk around it. The road was still quite muddy on the side that...More

Made the trip to Emerald Lake and found it to be frozen in early May. Had a quick look around but couldn't really find anything to do.

Yes emerald lake has a restaurant right on the lake with excellent facilities. Out on the highway 1 (east of lake) the is a travel information centre with 5-10Km's also with excellent restrooms and facilities.
