The falls, in the northern half of Yoho park, drop 833 ft -- making it one of the highest waterfalls in Canada. The falls are spectacular in early summer, when melting snow and ice provide ample runoff.

We had some time to spare and had a look. It's not really worth the detour. 5 minutes was enough. The valley is nicer though.

We saw the falls as we were approaching from a distance and were impressed how mighty and tall they were. Close up they were even more impressive, spraying everything nearby with a fine mist and the closer you got, the louder the roar. A nice stop off on a damp day!

Make sure to get the park pass for Yoho National Park, as the park police hand out tickets that will cost a lot more than the park passes!...here & at Emerald Lake. This is worth the short walk to get there, as these falls are some of the best you will ever see.

We have been by here often, but never taken the time to turn up the road. Parking lots were full on this summer day, but we needed a walk. The size of these falls impresses and the noise and mist add to the fell. Road is steep with hairpin turns in places. Leave your RV and trailer below and take... More

The view is amazing... Walk up towards the falls and you can just feel the mist. On a hot day it felt great. We stayed at the campground which we loved and we will return. I would love to hike the iceline tail/yoho valley to twin falls and spend a few nights in the backcountry.

Great photo ops here! Yoho Natl Park has fewer crowds than Banff/Lake Louise areas. Easy parking and a short trail leads to towering, thundering, beautiful Takakkaw Falls. Great views from a distance and exciting misty moist views from near the base of falls. Don't miss this one when in the Banff area. It's easy to combine with a visit to... More

Like Waterfalls? This one is a must! The thundering noise of the water and the powerful wind that the water coming over the top is just incredible! I have never been to a waterfall like this! You can keep climbing up it as well, prepare to get wet if you do! It does feel cooler as you get to the... More

Glad that we stopped here. Walked along the river and got some amazing views and photos. Overcast, but still gorgeous. Def recommend stopping here.

We stopped to see the Falls and the whole surrounding area made it easy to get pictures from all angles. My husband and two of my daughters climbed quite high to get a closer view. They came back soaked but it's a picturesque park that's worth the detour.
