Closed down 🙁Such a shame when we arrived and one of adjacent shops told us it had closed down about a month ago. On the plus side there is a large Wyevale garden centre next door with a lovely coffee shop, cafe, pet store and aquatics, indoor soft play area and Pirate Crazy golf outside, so all the kids were happy. Spent about 3 hours in there.

We visited today with our 6 year old daughter and thought it was really good. The chap on reception was really knowledgeable and great at explaining to our daughter, then we had great fun wandering around searching for butterflies and caterpillars. There were loads of butterflies in beautiful colours including one that landed on our daughters hand! We also enjoyed watching the terrapins in the water and watching the chrysalises and newly hatched butterflies. We had a break in between our visit doing some colouring and drawing and enjoyed seeing all the other creations on the wall. We spent about an hour here. A lovely visit.

It's a place I'd wanted to visit for quite a while. When I eventually made time I was not disappointed. It's actually quite a small venue but the variety of butterflies was good. The first thing you notice is the humidity. Light clothes are a must despite the outside weather. At first I wondered where the butterflies were. But just stopping and waiting and adjusting to the environment butterflies can be seen all round. Because of the humidity I'd advise visitors to take occasional breaks outside. You will be allowed to re-enter as many times as you'd like. For photographers there is a hairdryer to use on your lens prior to entry to prevent your lens steaming up. A nice touch.

There were plenty of butterflies, caterpillars, greenery, fish and terrapins here. We visited with a five year old and we struggled to make the visit last longer than 30 minutes, which included doing some colouring in. So £15 for 30 minutes does work out rather expensive. You can come and go all day once you've paid but once you've seen it once you've seen it all really.
