Having visited the North Somerset bird of prey centre (right next door) we popped in to visit the butterfly centre. Nice to watch so many brightly coloured butterflies flitting about. A challenge to photograph well. Keep your eyes open for the stick insects. My partner and I enjoyed the visit.

We brought 20 excited Rainbow Guides and the girls loved it. Pete's easy going way with the girls was perfect, the girls got to see caterpillars and chrysalis as well as the huge numbers of brightly coloured butterflies, terrapins and fish in the pond. We wilo definately be back.

We took our little girl who is 18 months and she and us absolutely loved it. There was lots of beautiful butterflies to look at and the little pond houses fish and Terrapins. The staff were very informative and happy to help.

Loads of butterflies with a superbly knowledgeable chap running things. Absolutely worth a visit or two as species change through the year. June to August is hatching time. It's small and hot so prepare to sweat! With toddlers or young kids, your visit I'd likely to be as brief as their attention spans...for the more patient, sit quietly on the... More

This is a really super place to visit. We took my 7yr old Granddaughter who loved it. The Father of the owner was standing in and was really informative spending time showing us caterpillars, chrysalis & new butterflies drying out. Will definitely return. Also must mention delightful cafe on site. Very reasonable and food delicious.

What a lovely guy the owner is. He kindly invited us to visit his centre free of charge after seeing our disappointment at being let down by the Bird of Prey Centre next door. Nothing was too much trouble. He showed the children caterpillars, stick insects and provided informative and enthusiastic dialogue about the many beautiful butterflies residing there. Definitely... Hidden away behind a clutch of other businesses in BS49 you will find this gem. We spent an hour and a half there marvelling at the variety of butterflies, caterpillars and plants. The sharp-eyed will also spot other creatures such as stick insects. The engaging proprietor Pete was on hand to provide the knowledge and expertise. His enthusiasm was infectious... More

We went to the North Somerset Butterfly House today and it was amazing. The owner was friendly and very knowledgable. He talked us through what we would see inside and showed us some new arrivals. We purchased a butterfly spotting guide (bargain at 50p) and some terrapin food. Once inside, the butterfly house was beautiful with so many different types... More
