Good location and access to Grand Union and/or Oxford Canal. Well prepared narrow boat, good on-board facilities.

Our holiday with Napton Narrowboats was outstanding from start to finish. All the staff we dealt with were great. On arrival, for our first ever narrow boat experience, after a short wait (mainly due to Covid restrictions) we were shown to our boat "Constance" by Steve. Steve was a really friendly, witty and knowledgeable chap who went through everything on the boat and all the necessary daily procedures and made sure we understood everything (without making us feel at all stupid) before taking us for a 20 minute practice "drive" up to the Grand Union Canal and back. It was an excellent introduction and after getting just about close enough to the side for him to jump off without getting his feet wet, we set off south for our adventure. The boat was lovely. Very clean, well stocked with cutlery and crockery etc and even had a complimentary goody box. Although the longest boat available, it handled really nicely, the engine was smooth and it was a pleasure to be aboard. We planned a relaxing week so only travelled to the far side of Banbury before turning back. On our return, not far from Fenny Compton, we came across a sister boat which had broken down (turned out most likely "user error!!?). As we bimbled past, a very freindly engineer from Napton was on board so we offered assistance (by way of a possible tow) but, after a short wait, he'd diagnosed the problem and decided we weren't needed, so we continued on. After 7 days away, we arrived back at Napton at 08:30 and were assisted in getting it reversed into the mooring (actually, they did it for us!). The check out procedure was as painless as the check in and by 08:55, we'd disembarked and were on the road. It would be hard to find fault with this company. The staff were superb and so was the boat. What more could you ask for.

We broke down at Napton Narrowboats in our boat which we'd hired from another company for our holiday. They were absolutely brilliant with us. So helpful and kind and Adam the engineer and his colleague did everything they could to get us going again. They figured out the problem and allowed us to stay at their boat yard while we waited for our engineer. Brilliant customer service! We will definitely be booking with them next time 😊👍

My husband and I hired one of the Regency boats, the Aria from Autherley Junction. We hired boats from other places before, so this was our first time from here. I have to admit, it was the best Marina to hire from so far. Compared to the other boats this was like a 4 or 5 star boat. Well equipped, immaculate and great TV reception on both TV's for when we moored. Pete, Ann and Simon were so helpful at the Marina, you could not ask for better people to hire from. We so enjoyed our time and for really being first time Lock openers we managed 20 locks and were proud we did it. You just have to take your time and you will get thru them. Thank you Napton Boats at Autherley Junction for a great holiday.
