    Very good
Went on a tour with Paul who was very passionate and informative about the lake and taught us a bout the Red Admiral. I learnt a lot of things like that the bird in the centre of a flock of birds does all the work. A lovely shop also.

A peaceful, attractive reserve, with many opportunities to enjoy nature.
Lackford Lakes provides wonderful opportunities for walking in attractive, peaceful surroundings, and bird spotting from several hides overlooking the lakes. The cafe is a bonus, with delightful views overlooking a small lake, bird feeders that attract a wide variety of visitors, as well as deer, hares, etc. A pleasant shop provides retail opportunities.

    A proper escape to nature!
A very peaceful place to visit near Bury St Edmunds. Perfect for spotting wildlife, especially birds and dragonflies. The walk around the lakes is very enjoyable, you can hear various birds at the time. It's a great place to visit to see sunsets. Or, if you want to meditate, you'll definitely find a quiet spot there. It's a proper escape to nature, one of the best places to see the wildlife near Bury St Edmunds!

Dog walkers have to follow the ‘red arrows’ where basically you follow a route around a square sheep field, didn’t see any part of the lake atall. Really disappointing. Only good thing is that we didn’t have to pay for parking.

A great Suffolk Wildlife trust site. Despite sleet had a lovely morning, close encounter with a Wren and a Little Egret. Lovely birding spot or just a nice gentle walk. Hides and benches to sit. Visitor centre always makes a cracking mug of tea which you can enjoy watching the birds on the feeders, with a slice of cake of course. Recommend you try it!

Not worth visiting if you have a dog - designated red route for dog walking takes you as far away from the lakes as possible - not even a distant glimpse of water. Boring walk round a sheep field. Wish I hadn’t bothered to drive all that way there.

Good scenic walks around some interesting lakes with plenty of birdlife and hides to watch from. Good cafe at the entrance, as its free either give a donation in the box or spend in the cafe.
We met a local expert who gave us some pointers about the site and where to see the birds.

Was a beautiful warm day so the one side of the lake was a hot walk but plenty of benches while the other was under glorious tree and vegetation. Cool scenic walk and observing the variety of birds. Saw people picnicking and thought that was a wonderful way to enjoy the tranquility

What a great place. Took a leisurely 2 hour walk with occasional sit downs in the hides! Many different species of birds. Also saw a muntjac which was not scared and came within a couple of feet of us. Saw crayfish swimming in the stream. Did not expect to see that!
