About
Come and meet us and our amazing alpacas at Spring Farm nr Uckfield, East Sussex. We offer "alpaca and wildlife safaris" across our self contained farm in the High Weald AONB. We are ideally situated close to Sheffield Park, the Bluebell Railway and the Ashdown Forest. During the gentle walk we will tell you about alpacas, their fibre, UK wildlife and how we farm. When you arrive we will give you a few details as to practicalities and then introduce you to your alpaca. We then go for the walk which is over largely even ground within the farm's boundaries and will take approx. 45/50 minutes. On your walk you may see a selection of British wildlife. The farm is managed within Higher Level Stewardship which means we don't use pesticides or fertilisers on the fields - so the walk is through wildflower meadows and strands of woodland. There is always plenty to see in each of the Seasons. After your walk, we provide you with carrots (already chopped) to reward your walking partner! We then typically go to meet the mums/babies group of alpacas and spend time with them. If you are inspired by alpacas and their fibre, we can also show you the fibre side of what we do on the farm using our own alpacas fibre. Alpaca fibre is an incredible natural fibre and lends itself to luxury products. Alpacas are herd animals so we walk a minimum of two on any given day. Please note that the minimum age for walking an alpaca is typically 12 years old. We also allow accompanying walkers on the basis of a maximum one accompanying per guest walking an alpaca. We look forward to seeing you soon.

We went for a walk with Vicky and Chris, Ziggy and Buttons the Alpaca's in January and it was such a lovely, peaceful experience. Vicky was so invested in the ethical farming and conservation practices conducted at Spring Farm, and had so much knowledge on how to care for Alpaca's with love. They are such quirky animals! It was the perfect Christmas present gift for my family and I and would definitely recommend!

We loved this experience! The staff were all so friendly, passionate and clearly loved working with these quirky animals. The walk around the farm with the alpacas was great fun, even through the mud! Feeding them their treats at the end was a lovely experience too and seeing the mummies and their babies afterwards. All in all, a fantastic and unique experience thank you!

My daughter (13) and I had a wonderful day out at Spring Farms. We got to walk with an alpaca (Yuri) and a llama (Leo), both of which were friendly and easy to take around, if a little stubborn at times (mainly when they wanted to eat the grass) - which added to the fun. Issy and Charlie walked with us and answered all our questions, big and small, and this made for a very interesting (easy) walk through the fields surrounding the farm. We also got to see the mothers and the babies at the end, and fed carrots to our companions (who ate directly from our hands, for added excitement). It felt safe and it was fun. Highly recommend it.

Our walk at Spring Farm made for an unusual and enjoyable birthday for my partner (I thoroughly enjoyed it too!).
The alpacas and llamas were very friendly and well looked after, we walked with Ziggy (Alpaca) and Leo (Llama) and both had their own great characters.
The walk took in some of the farm estate encountering Fallow deer and Kestrel as well as hearing about the conservation efforts being made being to benefit wildlife and the environment including the establishment of wildflower meadows.
We highly recommend the experience to friends and hope to return ourselves in the future.
Thanks to the team for such special day.

What an amazing experience. Chris and Vicki were very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about their pack of gorgeous alpacas and llamas. It was a privilege to walk with such well looked after and loved animals. I would recommend everyone takes time out of their busy lives to walk with these wonderful creatures.

We enjoyed a fantastic walk with our small group, it made the whole experience very special. The alpacas were completely charming and a delight to be with. Vicki's intro was most informative. It was a privilege to be amongst so many calm, curious and endearing animals who are clearly loved and so well cared for. Thank you for a great time - and the rain stayed away! Wonderful!!
