Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Batu Cave is the largest statue in Malaysia at a height of 42.7 meters in front of the cave. The statue of the god of war and victory, Murughan, is also the second largest in the world. It was unveiled in Taipei in January 2006 after the three-year work of Indian craftsmen by the Tamil people. Located on the right of the entrance of the cave's staircase, the upper part of the cave is also a huge symbol that can reach the entrance of the actual cave and is a new symbol in the Batu cave, a sanctuary of Malaysian Hinduism.

It's a temple in which I felt peace and quiet, kinda goes well with my beliefs. There are so many stairs to the top, but it's worth it. The great statue is one of a kind! The art, the culture, which you can see live, because people come and visit, they hold ceremonies also. Monkeys are all over the place and they sometimes steal stuff from your pocket (sooo funny). I think it's a must see place in Kuala Lumpur. oh! don't forget trying the coconut juice!

I travel many of the Murugan temple all over the world. But really this temple make me a special experience that attracts each & everythings awesome

The Giant Lord Murugan is a fantastic Statue, I really say heartily Thanks to the Malaysian Government for maintaining this temple & Murugan statue in an excellent manner..

Even inside the temple had a deep fulfilment in the heart & feels like a heaven , Those who are spritually linked. i personally recommended to visit this temple to get the blessings of Lord Murugan, also a excellent breathing feel may occurs inside the cave

I would like to visit again to this temple as soon as possible.

It's a huge statue and if you are a fan of bombastic things, this one should not disappoint you. It does, however, steal away the attention from the majestic caves and the staircase leading to them a bit.

For us this was the most picturesque part of the Batu Caves visit. At the base of the 272 steps that take you to the caves you can photograph this deity for free and it’s possibly yh4 highlight of the visit.

The main attraction: the golden statue of Lord Murugan and the impressive staircase of 272 steps.
As iconic as it has already become, the statue of Lord Murugan - at 140 feet (nearly 43 m) the tallest of its kind - was only unveiled in 2006.
