Estate Tour - approx 4 hours
We had the Estate Tour, was a wedding present & what a great present it was. We didn’t know much about wine apart from knowing we like the taste but after today we may not be experts but we feel a lot more informed. Andrew our tour guide was friendly & really knew his stuff. There were 16 of us on the tour. The welcome talk is usually held outside but being the hottest day of the year we stayed in a lovely air con room with a beautiful white wine.. that was so easy to drink & topped up frequently… then off with a guide of the grounds… stopping in shaded areas for explanation & questions.. before stopping under a large oak & tasting the rosè… plenty of time for photos, before continuing around the fields and a tasty 3 course lunch with more wine (obviously 😀)
Hi Joanna, Congratulations on your marriage! I'm so pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit with us and that Andrew was able to keep you all cool and well-watered in the hot weather! We hope to welcome you back again in the future. And enjoy your continued explorations of the wonderful world of wine! Best wishes, Allie

    Fantastic afternoon.
Went for a lunch-date with my lovely wife WITHOUT the kids. They’re now old enough to be left but not quite for an evening/night. So what better than a romantic lunchtime picnic at a vineyard? Absolutely perfect idea and one to be repeated. Plenty of parking, welcoming staff. Lovely walk around to the ‘Boot Hill’ picnic area where we were greeted by the wonderful Penny. Our picnic was waiting for us on a huge table and cushioned benches, under a lovely canvas roof with open sides. Our lift had let us down and so I had to drive. Not a problem says Penny. We didn’t open the bottle of Rosé that came with the picnic, instead opting to buy a couple of glasses of Blanc de Noirs so we could take our unopened bottle home. The locally sourced charcuterie was incredible, as was the locally sourced cheeses, fruits and vegetables. Makes you feel lucky to live in such a place. The Blanc de Noirs was stunning and so a couple of bottles were bought. Penny arranged it so that after our picnic, when we took a walk around the estate, she was waiting back at the ‘Nest’ to hand us the bottle she didn’t have in stock up at Boot Hill. The whole experience was just thoroughly enjoyable. A relaxed environment, beautiful views, delicious food, exquisite wine and the truly fabulous Penny taking care of us throughout. She was so incredibly knowledgable on the wine, the grape and the process. A true credit to Gusbourne and we sincerely hope to see her next time we book, which we now inevitably will. Almost feels like writing a review is to our own detriment as this feels, right now, as if we’ve discovered a hidden local gem. I’ve already been back on the website looking at what events are upcoming. Can’t wait.
Hi there, What a wonderful review, thank you! I'm so glad you had a fantastic time at Gusbourne and that Penny made the experience that much more enjoyable for you. We look forward to seeing you back again in the near future! Best wishes, Allie

    Brilliant Estate Tour
This tour was a birthday gift from a very good friend and it was an excellent present! We have visited many Wineries both in the UK and abroad, but this was very different; on another level completely! The winery is only 20 years old, but looks new (ie clean and business-like), is massive, very friendly and family oriented (ie not all about money). Our guide (Steve) knew his stuff, with a sense of humour and excellent communication skills. The food was excellent and of course the wines were breathtaking as was the estate itself. Well worth a visit!
Hi Richard, Thank you for your lovely review and kind words. I'm so glad we exceeded your expectations and hope you'll visit again in the future. Happy belated birthday! Best wishes, Allie

    Gusbourne wine tasting, fantastic!
We went to Gusbourne to celebrate a friends birthday, and had a fantastic time. The staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely knowledgable. Our host Daniel was amazing, and answered all our questions with a smile! Thank you all for a wonderful experience.
Thank you for your kind review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit! We hope to see you at The Nest again soon. Best wishes, Allie

    Wonderful!
Brilliant day! We booked lunch with your and tasting for my Mums 70th! It was good fun, we learnt a lot and the wine is superb! Our only criticism is the menu on the table said “this or that”, but that’s not what it meant, it meant if you had pre told them you were vegetarian you would get the “that”, this would have been fine except the meat choices were quite niche, herring to start and lamb (still red) for main. Tasty, but a few people would have preferred the veggie option once we’d seen the meat option!
Hi Sam, Great to hear you had a good time with us. Apologies for any confusion on the menu, there was an error in printing on that particular day. Our chef has to order in ingredients in advance, so unfortunately choosing on the day isn't possible, we need to have the details of any dietaries at the time of booking. We hope you'll join us for another experience soon. Best wishes, Allie

    Amazing lunch with wine tasting/pairing.
Despite the weather, we had a fantastic lunch and wine tasting experience at Gusbourne. All of the wines we tasted - 6 in total - were delicious. Anna was amazing in explaining the wine making process and how to taste it. Everyone who likes wine should be drinking English!
Hi Louise, Thank you for your five-star review! Please do visit again soon. Best wishes, Allie

    Great Tasting Experience
We visited here a few days ago as a special treat for my Dad’s birthday. It was further than other vineyards for us but I saw the excellent reviews and decided to go for Gusbourne. It was definitely worth it! We were unlucky with the weather (very windy and rainy day) but that was forgotten as we sat down inside and were guided through a great selection of wines. Our guide Jan was not only very knowledgeable and personable but she went the extra mile in accommodating us and making us feel welcome. The plate of local cheese and crackers at the end was a pleasant addition. It’s great to see a commitment to working with local producers. Highly recommended.
Hi Morwenna, I'm glad to hear you were able to have a stellar experience with us despite the weather. I hope you'll come back again in sunnier times! Best wishes, Allie

Even better than my last visit!
I’d visited Gusborne last year and thought I knew what to expect, but I was wrong - they have taken it up quite a few notches! The weather for our visit was atrocious, but the welcome was extremely warm. From the minute you arrive to when you leave you are spoilt with some exceptional wines and service to match them. Anna was great taking us thru the wine tasting and the food was excellent. If you’re anywhere near here and like your wine you should definitely make this your destination!
Thank you for returning for a visit to Gusbourne. I'm glad that you had a wonderful time despite the rain. Hoping you'll get better weather on your next visit, but great that regardless of that we can still offer a five-star experience! Best wishes, Allie

    Discovery Experience ………
I purchased the Discovery Experience for my husbands birthday. He had ordered wine from Gusbourne in the past and loved it so I took him to taste some more! A lovely three course lunch paired with five tasting glasses of Gusbounre sparkling/still white/rose wines. Very generous glasses for those that were not driving, sadly I was the designated driver :-( However Paul made the experience with his informative knowledge and he soon put everyone at ease from the off with his warm, relaxed, friendly approach. You are all sat on one large table , I would describe it personally, as the table at a wedding where you have not met the individuals before but by the time you have finished the first glass of chilled sparkling Gusbourne everyone relaxes and starts chatting. Really slick operation, highly recommend this experience, excellent value and made the perfect gift and it was worth the 6 hour round trip! Thank you all!
Hi Lisa, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. I'm so glad you had a wonderful visit and hope you'll return with a different designated driver next time so you don't have to hold back! Best wishes, Allie

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Gusbourne, brought my partner here for his birthday and it was a new and shared experience for us. We definitely came unprepared, I was wearing satin silk trousers (don't do it!), if visiting now (April) - be sure to wear wellies/boots with casual clothes you don't mind getting mucky. I would imagine in warmer months, the walk around the vineyard would be more enjoyable. Daniel was our host/guide and it was a real pleasure being shown around by someone as calm as Daniel. His whole energy and aura was calming and gentle. His expertise and passion for wines shone through and both my partner and I really enjoyed our time at Gusbourne, namely for Dan the Man making it a great experience. Getting there from London was not a hassle at all, train from St Pancras to Ashford International, then a cab ride (quite spenny mind). My only criticism or feedback rather would be that Dan needs a mic, it was often hard to hear him as he is softly spoken and when sat at the end of dinner table, was impossible to hear him. Also for the Estate Tour (one we did), I suggest a goodie bag be given at the end with a mini bottle of wine and perhaps a small toy goose along with some other little freebies thrown it, would have certainly made the experience whole as after lunch the experience ended quite abruptly with people just leaving. There was no conclusion as such. The Head Chef came to explain the new menu to us at lunch and that was fantastic. The entire main was zero waste, I thought that was brilliant. What a fantastic day, thank you Gusbourne and will certainly return again in future.

We went for a wine tasting for my husbands 60th with 16 friends and family. We had the most amazing time. Our Host was very knowledgeable and made her talk really interesting. From ages of 20 to 82 everyone had a great time. I'd totally recommend a visit for the wine and cheese. Thank-you Gusbourne for making my husbands day a little more special.

This is our second time at Gusborne. We came earlier in the year and loved it so much when our friends said ‘shall we return’ we jumped at the chance. We opt for the Discovery Tour at £85.00 per head. For that you have a lovely 3 course lunch cooked to a very high standard which is paired with around 4/5 glasses of sparkling wine. The host explains all about Gusborne and how it started, the story of their business is really informative and you get to ask questions along the way. You also get a chance to stand within the factory side of the winery and again you received a very informative talk on the process of making wine. Afterwards we went outside treated ourselves to another cold bottle of fizz and enjoyed the sunshine. The wine is not cheap circa £60 per bottle but it is superb. There is not one bottle of their sparking wines that we didn’t like they are all amazing. The Nest sparking wine is my favourite. Will we return? Hell yes absolutely again next Summer.

Amazing tasting with Daniel today.
A very knowledgeable guide who provided some exceptional sparkling wines today. Just can’t decide between the Brut and the Rose. Both worthy award winning wines. Glorious Autumn sunshine permitted us to continue drinking in the arbour after the tasting.

We had a gift voucher for a picnic and this was the last chance to use it before it expired. My wife had a bad cold and we even hesitated about going, but as it turned out, we had a great time. The weather was perfect and we sat outside in the picnic area under cover. Penny looked after us superbly, bringing a blanket for my wife and all the food and drink. The food, which, I believe, was all locally sourced, was delicious - a pork pie, sheep's cheese, crackers, focaccia, cold meats, smoked fish spread, tomatoes and strawberries, all accompanied by a bottle of Gusbourne's excellent 2020 vintage. When a couple lit up cigarettes close to our table, Penny was quick to point out that this was not allowed, which was greatly appreciated. All in all a lovely experience and one which we can thoroughly recommend.

Outstanding - deserves its reputation. We visited on a sunny Sunday mid-morning in August. This established Kent vineyard is a class act. Its on site team is exceptionally knowledgeable. The wines are phenomenal- the sparkling and the still. Highly recommend the Brut Reserve and the English Rosé still in particular. The wine flight is served with locally produced cheeses and chutneys made on site, which is both a nice touch and speaks to the Epicurean revolution that’s spreading through Kent and East Sussex. It’s a wonderful and fun outing in stunning surroundings. Hard to beat.
