Been past this place a thousand times but never visited before, what a wonderful place this is, not only did we find plants we were unable to find elsewhere we were astounded at the beautiful gardens attached to the nursery. Recommend that some research would be helpful before attending as there are no pictures of plants in bloom for guidance with colour or growth, but for assistance Mrs Cook is very helpful & makes you feel very welcome. Plenty of events upcoming even some for children so will make a great day out for the family. We did meet the resident cat also very friendly all in all a great day, we will return later in the year to see how the garden develops.

The gardens are looking very good and are in excellent condition. Lovely plantings of tulips to contrast shrubs and other plantings. The wildflower meadow is looking attractive with frittallies and cowslips. Very peaceful with lots of birdsong. good stock in the nursery.

I'm lucky in that I live locally to these gardens. Visited with a friend today but pressed for time, so just made use of the cafe and plant nursery . Excellent service and a lovey warm welcome from the new lady running the cafe... .. (only serving take-out drinks and cakes at present but outside seating available in the beautiful courtyard.) Looking forward to a visit again soon....

The wildflower meadow is looking fabulous. Full of fritillaries, cowslips, oxslips and daffodils. The blossom is also just perfect at the moment

We spent a wonderful couple of hours at Stillingfleet Lodge just before they closed up for the season. Such interesting planting with wonderful tips on what to look out for in each of the garden ‘rooms’ - so helpful to have the name of that spectacular salvia or giant eupatorium that you are itching to plant and the nursery has lots of interesting examples if you want to take them home with you. Lovely to see that such healthy and robust plants live on a chemical free diet with only homemade compost to sustain. The whole ethos of sustainable gardening with wildlife is at the fore and the birdsong alone is testament to the benefit of leaving plants to live their full life cycle with fruits and seeds to benefit the population. Immaculate lawns and hedges set off the voluminous borders but amongst those are surprising elements of formality with the contemporary rill garden and beech columns. Can’t wait to come back in a different season - such a hidden gem.
