Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First stop off in Koh Rong. Nice bungalows, great views. Run by a friendly family. We were offered a transport service from the pier which was really appreciated. We were also able to rent a moped from the family at a discounted rate to get out and explore the area. Stayed for 3 nights and swam with plankton, saw a fire show, and took a snorkelling tour. Great location although a little difficult to get out and about without a moped.

Stayed a couple of days at this beach, it was wonderful! It is very calm and relaxing, with not as many tourists as on the island's main beach. The sand is white, the water is clean & there is decent shade. There is no artificial light so you can easily swim with the planktons.
There are one or two beach bars/restaurants and the food is pretty good! We stayed in Coconut Beach Bungalows & we absolutely loved it.

Tip: How to see the planktons?! Walk to the end of the beach, towards Coconut Beach Bungalows. When you reach the big tree with the swing, walk into the water.
Not the hammocks in the water next to Bungalows, as there is some light around it but the swing on a tree on the beach. Continue walking until the water is up to your waist. Make sure it’s pitch black around you and turn away from any source of light. Now gently move your hands through the water and observe: tiny lights, millions of them, dancing around your hands! They are tiny small but if there is no artificial light, you will see them easily!

Lovely beach with moderate development. Very clean with rare trash compared to most other beaches we visited on KR. Numerous tent and bungalow options. Not noisy unless you are at the far south side of beach next to bar. Poor vegetarian options if that is important to you, compared to more developed beaches. Water is clean with wide shallows, minimal seaweed. Not much for snorkeling if that’s your thing but there are trips based out of here like all other beaches. You can see the lights of Sihanoukville in the distance at night which may alter your general sense of isolation, long set and soksan beaches do not see Sihanoukville at night. Nice healthy courteous beach dogs throughout. We did connection from Sihanoukville via “speed ferry” which made it unclear that the 5pm afternoon arrival boat actually drops off at long set beach with a free 15 min truck ride to coconut beach and subsequent walk down the hill which might be difficult for some travelers with heavy luggage. Make sure to double check where boat will drop off so you aren’t surprised. This may vary depending on season.

The road to other beaches is rough at times (unlaced throughout, patches of sand and some rocky terrain patches) so you should feel somewhat confident on a scooter if you are renting one to get around.

Food options more limited than koh rong more developed areas like sok san, long set, main harbor, etc. mostly basic Khmer, mild versions of thai, and standard Khmer interpretations of western fare. One western style pizza restaurant. Prices cheaper than the developed areas both with lodging and food.

You can walk from here to Nature beach in half an hour. About half an hour from there walking a jungle path along the water to long set beach. Scooter around 40 minutes to sok San beach. Look at google map satellite images for roads and paths.

Well i have to say that i was staying in long set resort so i took a motorbike and went to have a look at all the beaches, this one is quite small, water clear but it gets deep immediately, nothing compared to long set beach and sok san beach, the latter is the best beach on koh rong. Moreover when we had a look in coconut beach there are only tents for backpackers limited places to wash, people were washing clothes with their feet etc not clean at all so, unless ur a backpacker and ur used not to wash for a week, I’d avoid this beach lol

We took a private taxi boat that took as to know how about around kohrong Island. In general Kohrong is full of rubbish and a decadent place to stay, but coconut beach is cleaner, many locals on this place that just rise up their children and take care of the island, you better go right to this place, is very nice

We came here while joining Adam Adventure Tour. It is not a long beach but nice and cozy. You can do snorkeling there also.
