Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nileswaram is situated on the National Highway "17" just 4 Km south to Kanhangad town. Nileswaram is an abbreviation Neelakandeswaram related to Lord Neelakantha (Lord Siva). Another view is that the place named after Sage Neela who installed the idol of Eswara (God). Legend says that Lord Parasurama constructed the temple to facilitate Sage Neela to consecrate the idol. Shiva is the principal deity of the temple. A tall Siva Lingam at a height of 270 cm facing east is installed in the temple. Lord Ganapathy, Lord Maha Vishnu and Lord Sastha are the other deities. Eight day long festival in Kumbhom (February-March) is the important festival. Of these, Pallivetta and Arat are very important.

I am very sad to say that I had a bad experience over here..even though it's a temple...I and my mother were visiting the temple for the first time.. and we are coming from Ernakulam...and it's really sad to say that they didn't allow us to enter the temple only because we were wearing churidar... now the technology has advanced but people over there (Poojari's)mindset are still the same ..we had requested to the person who was sitting there in the counter to help us to go inside and also we added that we were coming from Ernakulam and we don't think we can come again but he was not ready to listen to us at all... even the famous temple Guruvayoor doesn't have such kind of restrictions but here... I have no words to say... it is really really heartbreaking for devotees like us. Who said devotees can't wear churidar before entering the shiva temple. Did lord Shiva told ...these are the rules of narrow-minded people...(Poojari's)... now I have to say 1 thing that wake- up Kerala !!... it's time to grow up... please don't do like this, especially the people who are coming from far far places... that only to see lord shiva... and 1 more thing I wanted to add here that if it was celebrities who did the same .. that
if they wear churidar and come.. will they (Poojari's) allow entering the temple...??? I wonder.... Readers, please react...

Any temple is a beauty in its own right. The temple's main deity is Shiva and this place is mostly frequented by ardent devotees. A place worth visiting if you are passing thorough this area *Visit*

The name is unpronounceable - but it is predominantly a Shiva temple with other deities as well. Venture here only if you are religious - else give it a miss.
