About
Brewery tours run Monday to Sunday, starting from the Visitors Centre, they last approximately 2 hours. The first 1½ hours are spent around the brewery where you'll see our original steam engine, learn about our history and how we make our range of delicious beers. Once outside the Brewery, don't forget to keep an eye out for our working Shire horses, which still deliver beer to our local pubs. In any event, the tour of the brewery includes a tour of the stables so you won’t miss out on seeing these amazing animals. Upon completion of the tour, it's back to our sampling bar in the Visitor Centre for a ½ hour beer tasting. It is essential to book a Brewery Tour by contacting us on the phone or email.

- Martin S2 contributionsPre Christmas brewery visit for three old men!All of it - guided tour, shop, stables, restaurant and the beer tasting. Just a very enjoyable visit all round and in my opinion worth every penny. We looked arouind the very well socked brewery shop as well. Be prepared for pre decimal measurements - feet, inches, pints and gallons. This brewery is based on sound traditions. Excellent dayVisited December 2022Written 11 December 2022
- LorraineMiltonHorsham, United Kingdom49 contributionsExcellent tour - thanks Leon.We enjoyed the whole two hour experience. Leon made it very interesting and was a great guide - with a good sense of humour too. We bought a number of items in the well-stocked Brewery shop too and had an enjoyable lunch at the Malthouse kitchen. All highly recommended. It made for a very pleasant few hours.Visited December 2022Written 11 December 2022
- TonyM1960London, United Kingdom5 contributionsExcellent Brewery TourFrom the moment we walked into the Visitor Centre to let them know we were there for our Brewery Tour we were made very welcome. The tour was fully explaned to us including timing and we were told where to meet our guide. The guy that took us round (Chris) was excellent in his delivery of both the brewery history and the brewing process. At the end of our tour which was really interesting we got a reasonable amount of time in the tap room to sample a selection of Keg & Cask beers, and even a bottle of Ukranian Imperial Stout. I've toured Shepherd Neame, Courage, Charles Wells, Adnams and Fullers but enjoyed Hook Norton the most.Visited December 2022Written 11 December 2022
- Steve T2 contributionsBrewery TourVery interesting visit to the brewery which is very historic and in a lovely part of the country. Great to hear all the interesting stories from our excellent guide Martin. Well worth a visit, Cheers Top Tip - Some of the steps are very narrow and quite steep so do wear sensible shoes.Visited December 2022Written 13 December 2022
- Henry BWorcester, United Kingdom54 contributionsTour, tasting and lunchThis was a fascinating tour; our guide had long service with the Brewery and a strong feeling of tradition and history was given out. Many fascinating aspects of the process and equipment were shown and it was rounded off with a sociable tasting when we all got to know each other rather better. Quite difficult to leave this to have an arranged lunch in the restaurant upstairs, which made for a great morning's enjoyment.Visited December 2022Written 16 December 2022
- Alex RuffCheltenham, United Kingdom6 contributionsExcellent tour, great history of a fantastic local breweryWhat a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon, looked after by our amazing guide, Leon. Phenomenal story of a brewery that has been in existence for so long, has been so innovative and yet stayed true to traditional methods. Absolutely worth every penny of the very modest price for the tour, wonderful banter with our guide and that very welcome sampling exercise at the end of our tour. (Also finished off by excellent food at the Sun Inn, Hook Norton). Simply perfect way to ease into the Christmas period. Thank you Hook Norton Brewery.Visited December 2022Written 18 December 2022
- dominic o46 contributionsSpecial Christmas treat. We visited on December 17. We were taken round by a lady called Roz who was very informative. We learned a lot about the history of the brewery and the family who srarted it. I was amazed to learn that parts of a giant cog were made of wood. We also learned about the beers, particularly Hooky and old Hooky. All in all a very good tour, but probably best done in the summer.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 19 December 2022

Fantastic family business. Following the journey of the brewing process was great.
The guide was very knowledgeable, we tried different beers to finish off the tour and we're presented with Hooky glasses. The shop has s incredible selling not only their own products but locally made cheeses, sausages and many other items to fill your fridge with. Really worth a visit.

We had a lovely tour with Monty who was both extremely knowledgeable and fun. We had access to so much of the brewery and got a fantastic sense of how brewing has changed (or not) since the Victorian era. The shire horses were a highlight, as was the beer tasting (the stout is fab).

Just a brilliant, informative and enjoyable tour. Obviously the 'end of tour' samples were particularly memorable!!
If you end up with Leon taking you round you'll definitely have a laugh too.
I recommend you have something from the varied and tasty menu in the Malthouse Kitchen afterwards.

As a belated Fathers Day gift my son Mark booked a tour along with his Father in Law Nigel & son Jo. The Tour guide , David M , managed to give us a very interesting & humorous tour which we all enjoyed despite the freezing weather!!! However, this was quickly resolved by visiting the bar for a ‘ tester’ of the various beers / larger etc . We then finished off with a delicious Sunday meal & purchased some beers / gifts in the shop . Many thanks to ALL the staff & im sure we will return if we get permission from the’ Ladies ‘ 😂 David Parsons. Visit on Sunday 26 Nov

A fantastic brewery tour guided through the various stages of the history, building, process of beer making and tasting by tour guide, Malcolm. Malcom knew the inns and outs of everything and was able to answer all my questions. We started at the stables with the Shire Horses and then moved into the building built in 1900. Climbing through the 5 levels (not suitable for those with mobility) I was fully immersed in the brewing process, culminating in a tasting session in the basement. Whilst it is clearly a small scale brewery, there is clearly passion for brewing and in reality it is more like a living, working museum given all the old machinery and equipment. A step back in time. Would fully recommend a visit

I enjoyed the brewery tour which started in the museum above the shop.
We were given a very good in-depth guide to the brewery and its history. It is different from many other breweries so it is worth going on the tour. The steps are steep, so sensible shoes and a degree of caution is a wise precaution for all visitors. All questions were answered sensibly and informatively. The tour ended in the basement bar where we were treated to a range of beers from the lightest to the strongest in warm, freindly surroundings. The is no extra charge for sampling the beers there. Visitors were given a complimentary half-pint glass as a souvenir of their visit. I bought a selection of beers in the shop at the end of our visit and the shop staff allowed us to take our car to the wall outside, where we had stacked our cases of beer.
We finished in the restaurant, served a good range of local foods that were delightful. No dull boring predicable meals were served. The full range of beers were available to compliment the food. We thought that the prices were reasonable and the service was good. It is wise to book a table and to prebook the brewery visit to avoid disappointment.

We booked the tour of the brewery, it was very informative, entertaining and interesting. I don’t normally write reviews but on this occasion I felt it was important to let others know so they don’t miss out. Our tour guide Leon,s sense of humour added to the experience.

An incredibly interesting tour. Thought maybe 1.5 hours would get boring but time flew by and the tour guide was full of interesting facts. A proper victorian brewery with old school machines and engineering.

The shop, Malt House Kitchen and museum / visitor centre can be visited when open without charge.
There is a modest charge for a guided tour of the Victorian brewery which is NOT suitable for anyone with mobility issues as there are over 100 steps to ascend and descend.
You cannot visit the brewery itself without a guide due to health and safety laws.
Pre-booking is advisable weekdays and almost essential at weekends.
Check out their website for more info.

I wouldn't think so. The Brewery is very narrow with steepish steps only 1 person per step.
