We are a small family-owned and operated Sled Dog Touring company running dogsled tours out of Canmore, AB in the Kananaskis Provincial Park adjacent to Banff National Park. We have been in operation for 15 years with the British Army our main client. We run 2-hour, Half-Day, and Full-Day. This year we have opened our Kennel for tours during the summer season so we can offer family-dog adventures year round. We specialize in smaller groups and encourage involvement so you can experience dogsledding like a real musher.

My daughter, two seven year old grandkids and I took the Mountain Musher two hour tour. The kids had a great time riding in the sleds and particularly enjoyed petting the dogs and learning their names. Guides Giovanni and Jan were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. We had ample time with the dogs and several photo opportunities. Dana provided support... More

This dog sled tour was amazing. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, and our guide answered every little question I had about the area and dog sledding in general. The shorter tour was the perfect amount of time and we lucked out with a beautiful, clear day. You can tell that all of the guides absolutely adore the dogs... More

Wonderful two-hour tour with Mad Dogs. Our guide was charming, informative. The dogs were also personable and quite enthusiastic about a run. The stunning backdrop of the Three Sisters, coupled with a perfect day, and my daughter and I simply had to commit to another dog-sledding adventure. No hesitation whatsoever to book again with Mad Dogs & Englishmen!

Our visitor from France experienced one of her dreams and my wife had a great time. The staff are super friendly. They are well organized and the dogs look well cared for. Well worth the time. On colder days the two hour is the right choice.

This was a great day for all our family. It was freezing but so much fun. The dogs were incredible. Russell and his staff could not have been more helpfu, thoughtful or attentive. Thank you

We couldn't have been more pleased with our experience at Mad Dogs! A couple of years ago we bought a sled tour and through no fault of anybody but bad weather, we were unable to use it. We were instead offered a tour of the kennel. I knew that our children would love that! When we showed up, Russell greeted... More

We attended the kennel tour and loved it! The grounds include a beautiful nature walk and we appreciated learning about the history of sled dogs. Russell is enthusiastic and really cares for his dogs. We also ate at their restaurant and had the most amazing Indian food in a cozy little atmosphere. Definitely recommended!

We had a fantastic time on the dog sled tour. The guides couldn't have been more helpful. We loved the stop for hot chocolate and native bread. We enjoyed getting close to the dogs and seeing their different personalities. We would definitely visit again next time we are in Banff.

Russell clearly loves what he does and took my 10 year old and I on the interpretive tour he created on his acreage to highlight and promote the history and current practice of sledding/skijoring in the west. His tour appeals to adults and kids alike and visiting his kennel was one of the highlights of our trip. Russell knows the... More

We were looking for a sled dog kennel tour in the area and we picked Mad Dogs and Englishmen because of the good reviews and the type of tour described. We were not disappointed and participated in a short trail walk focusing on the history of dog sledding in the area before heading to the kennels and meeting the dogs... More
