We rented bikes here and thought it would be an leisurely ride through the woods. At the beginning of the several bike paths, an employee notified us of bears down one of the paths. Of course we chose a different path and ran into a...More

The entire family rented mountain bikes during our visit. They had trails for all experience levels. The kids stayed on the paved and gravel trails, while 2 of us took off on some single track. The rentals were competitively priced and the staff did a...More

Much has been written about Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park with respect to winter sports and mountain biking. And although we do both, it has even more to offer. The tracks make an outstanding place for running; well signposted, great conditions underfoot and a variety...More

This was my 3rd time mountain biking here. I'm an intermediate to advanced rider, both cardio and technically, so the Orange loop is perfect for me. Since my last ride in 2016, the Orange loop has expanded to include the Odessey winter fat biking loop....More

We stopped there twice for advice and both times the folks behind the information desk were great. They were VERY knowledgeable and happy to give us all the time we needed.

Prior to this trip, my idea of mountain biking was riding on gravel paths, wide trails, and carriage roads. What I found out by visiting the Nordic Center is that I am not a mountain biker. In fact, when I tried to hit some of...More

We had a day to kill in Calgary before flying out from a Rockies visit. We did the "luge" race course down the hill. The kids loved it, as did I, with my 4-year old in my lap. Mountain bike camp was going on at...More

Stopped by on way back from Grassy Lake hike. Was interesting to see the biathlon training center. Some trails to walk and places to picnic, but not much else to do here in summer,

We had lunch at the Nordic centre, and it was good and tasty. There are interesting artefacts displayed, mostly about skiing in the area over the years. They had ski bindings like the ones we used in the 1960s.

Maybe we didn't see everything that it has to offer, because I didn't understand why you would stop here. It looked like if you want to hike or mountain bike, then it's a good visit; however, not much else there to see.

It's pretty safe to have snow in the Rockies in March. In addition, they make artificial snow for the trails for cross country skiing if it should ever not snow. I have lived in Canmore for 20 years. And so far, there has... More

The trails marked Green are kid friendly. Some of the Green paths are paved and mostly flat. You will find maps inside the visitor centre.
