I took my son here for about 3 hours over the holidays. The museum is a great stop along the highway, and offers some interesting exhibits for young and old. They have a toy room for younger kids and a train simulator, unfortunately we ran out of time before we could try the simulator. The building is beautiful and i'm... More

This is a wonderful little "single-subject" museum; the single subject is the Canadian Pacific railway in Revelstoke. There are several well-curated exhibit rooms with a fair number of artifacts from the period during which the railroad was constructed. It's worth watching the short film, too. But the big ticket items are the steam engine and passenger car inside the building,... More

I stoped by to kill some time and I'm glad I did. This place is fantastic. Very well put together. Lots of interesting information about how they built the railroad, the different mountain passes they surveyed, what snow sheds were and how they worked, important people in the history of rail travel in Canada and BC, CPR resorts, lots of... I have been here 4 times over the years and will be returning soon. Probably the best train museum in Canada. Excellent displays extensive collection and very well run with a very good store on site. Have spent a few bucks in the store and have even mail ordered rail pictures from home. Definately a must see when in Revelstoke.

... as a total train fan, but I have seen many trains and train museums in my life. Revelstoke's is not the biggest, but a very well kapt and instructive one. Not a dull moment. Of course i drove through the Rockies on the simulator and boarded once the real steam train to Golden. Visit the railway days in Summer,... More

This museum, right on the rail line in Revelstoke is very informative and impressive. A train went by when we were there and that made it even more special. Well maintained and very clean, lots to see and read about and that big locomotive definitely takes the spotlight. Whether you are into trains or not, this is well worth a... More

If you are interested in "The Last Spike" and the history of the railway in Canadian history, do not miss visiting this museum. It is outstanding. We learned so much ... (we thought we knew it all!) and found the staff very helpful. Price is reasonable but allow at least an hour or more if you are really interested in... More

Very well done railway museum in an area where the railroad was king. Interesting exhibits line the walls while a full locomotive and an original 1920's passenger car take up the center of the main hall. Very clean and well organized. Good for all ages and worth a couple of hours of your time.

We took visitors to the Railway Museum last summer and spent the whole afternoon there. There is so much to see and it was interesting even to people who aren't crazy about trains. I think you'll be surprised. I was.
