Kids had a blast. First we started with an introduction movie on how the dam generates electricity. We then toured the power house and the kids got to see first hand on how the equipment would have operated and a great history lesson from the BC Hydro tour staff. We ended the tour in the "games room": where the kids... More

We spent a good couple of hours looking around the plant, my husband and uncle, both from electrical backgrounds were like kids in a candy shop! The display was very interesting and the engineering amazing. Well worth a stop in this beautiful area

The BC Hydro visitor centre at Stave Falls is located in a great area for parks, hiking trails, and other outdoor activities. It is a great place to visit for a family day trip or if you're camping in the area. It is a fairly easy 1 hour drive from Vancouver (depending on traffic) and there is ample parking. The... More

I went there because a scene from Smallville was filmed there so I had to tick it off my bucket list but ended up learning a lot and having a blast! Thanks to the lovely ladies at the front for listening to me fan girl over Smallville 😅 I'll be definitely going back!!

My husband thought this might be a good place to bring my brother and his wife. I thought it would be "okay", but was pleasantly surprised. It was very informative and interesting. I especially enjoyed the wide variety of "hands on" learning opportunities. Staff were very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. We would recommend this for elementary age students to seniors.... Loved the place! An old retired hydro powerhouse, with lots of exhibits to see. Lots of hands on exhibits. Great for young and old. Friendly guides to explain and show visitors around.

This national historical site is well worth the drive from Vancouver. The large hall has massive old generators, a fascinating antique looking control panel and nice architectural features from 1912. This is a choice family destination too, with great exhibits and tours. The BC Hydro staff are very pleasant and helpful. I think this place deserves to be much better... More

I would recommend this museum to everyone. Whether a tourist or from BC. See where your power came from in the past. See huge machines, 1912 architecture, fascinating displays and the 1912 Detroit electric car. Worth every penny. After take a walk on the easiest part of the Hayward Reservoir trail or take your dog to the dog park. Thanks... More
