Castlegar Sculpturewalk is an annual exhibition of outdoor sculptures, located on a pleasant walking tour in downtown Castlegar. Viewers are encouraged to vote for their favourite sculpture via ballot - the winner of the People's Choice award is purchased by the City for the permanent collections. All of the artworks are available for sale or lease. Sculpturewalk 2016 features 31 sculptures from local and international artists. Ballots/maps are located in red ballot boxes along the route (the start of the route is at the Kootenay Market (635 Columbia Avenue), though you can begin the walk from anywhere. Ballots/maps are also available at the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, or the Kootenay Gallery.

This is a nice leisurely (flat ground) walk around downtown Castlegar to view some absolutely stunning sculpture art. The hours and dedication spent on each one is always obvious and impressive. If you're an art lover, or even just appreciate something interesting in a community, I would recommend taking this walk. Bring a little water with you if the day... More

Beautiful sculptures created by artists from around the world. Enjoy the fresh air, while exposed to stimulating ideas and participating in thoughtful conversations. This is a favorite anytime we have visitors.

Castlegar Sculpture Walk is an annual outdoor event. Great selection of art positioned along Columbia Ave and sidestreets, from a range of artists local and from outside Canada, beautifully presented and lots to look at as well as feel. Makes a really enjoyable couple of hours of exploring Castlegar

We were on a summer trip throughout parts of the Kootenays. Most of the sights we were taking in were indoor venues until we came across the sculpture walk in downtown Castlegar. The cool thing about it is that pieces apparently rotate from area communities which keeps this outdoor collection fresh and inviting each year. We were impressed with what... More

Castlegar is becoming known as the sculpture destination due to this great annual display. Many of the favourites remain behind as local businesses acquire them for their properties so we continue to enjoy them throughout the year

We had been told about Castlegar's sculpture walk and wanted to check it out. No idea how to find it. We recommend you start at City Hall. It was well worth the side trip! Wish more towns would invest in such a superb accent to their communities.

Great display of scultpures by various artists that were sponsored by local businesses and encouraging visitors or locals to walk a few blocks of downtown Castlegar.
