We liked it!
Aug 2020 • Family
Ok so as the other reviewers have said it is a smaller place with a couple activities attached to a gift shop. We liked it cause we took our time to read information signs and appreciate all the fossils in the display cases. Yes you can rush through in 10 mins but if you take your time looking at and reading about the fossils, it is well worth it. Would I go again? No I wouldn't but I don't regret giving it a chance.

Fossils
Jul 2020 • Family
It was a good rainy day stop. A bunch of fossils and animatronic dinosaurs similar to what you’ll see that at Royal Tyrell museum, but there’s also a large Megladon sharks mouth to pose with and a few others odds and ends you won’t find at the Royal Tyrell. They have a small play area plus a fossil dig and gem pan handling station for the kids and they get to keep some, so that’s nice. Not a bad stop.

Overpriced and boring
Aug 2019 • Family
We drove 2 hours to visit Fossil World because of a friends recommendation. It was ridiculously expensive to get it, and once inside it’s just a tiny, disappointing circle. Barely any dinosaurs, a few fossils, and a small dirty play area that looked like it was out of a McDonalds.
For even more money kids could do a “fossil dig” which translated to “pick pre-placed fake fossils out of a big sandbox while being micromanaged by some stoned guy”.
We were in and out in 15 minutes, even after walking back to the start and doing another loop to try and make it worth the trip.
Ended up giving up and going to the Royal Tyrell Museum. It actually ended up being half the price for me and the kids to get in there, and well worth it.
Will never go back to Fossil World.

Corny and expensive
Aug 2019
Okay so the kids had fun but really I would have passed this up in a hot minute. You pay good money to get into a building built like a circle with a very small play structure, think McDonalds but smaller, a “dig” which is an oversized sandbox x 3 and some mo I get Dino’s and a few small sinks for “panning” for gold. If your kids are under six this will be a hit. All this attached to a very expensive store.

It wasn't as great as we'd hoped
Aug 2019 • Family
The animatronic dinosaurs were not as spectacular as we'd anticipated. Very quick walk through. In my opinion, not worth the $8 adult admission rate. One of the dinosaurs head/neck was broken and not moving. Doubtful I'd return unless my son becomes a dino lover.

Not Worth the Money
Aug 2019
My 9 year old and I went. Admission was $8 each. We were done in less than 10 minutes. Not worth the money at all. You can do a fossil dig for an additional $16 per person. We opted not to do that. Lots of fossils to purchase but very expensive. Would not return. Might be better worth it with small children (5 and under)

Very costly and quite small
Aug 2019
The animatronics were ok but very limited movements on a majority of the dinosaurs. The displays are mostly small cases along the walls with breif discription signs. The admission price just gets you in the door, the fossil dig and a couple other things are very costly add ons. The 7 & 9 year old kids had far more fun in the mcdonalds style play structure than the museum. Highly unlikely that I'll return.

It was okay but I would not do it again.

The dinosaurs all move and are motion activated but it is really small for the $$$$. My 7 & 11 yr olds were done in 10 minutes.

Great place for small kids
Jul 2019 • Family
Our youngest was a bit disappointed with the Royal Tyrrell Museum, but had a blast in this Centre!! It's a bit pricey, but the animatronic dinosaurs, along with the activities like panning for minerals and a fossil dig were a hit with our young children. They also have an indoor play structure which was a lot of fun for our kids. Great shop with souvenirs.

Worth a visit

Not cheap, but our 4 year-old had a ball here. The fossil dig was especially fun and the animated dinosaurs are awesome. We also enjoyed the slide, panning for minerals and the other displays. Take home fossil and minerals with the Discovery Pass. Huge gift shop.
